Far too many companies give employees the golden kiss-off at the age of 65.

:(
Collecting! It's what I do!

many times not so golden, also retirement is needed for those who can not physically do the work any more.

1. Yes
2. There aren't any shows in particular which are better or worse, it really depends on who shows up to sell stuff. At this show, Andy had a bunch of stuff since he's selling his collection, Dan Roebuck sent stuff, and I brought some as well.  I'm not sure the quantity and quality of monster toys has been present at a show anywhere, in the last 15 years.  It may be another 15 years or more before it happens again.
Those PALMER monsters packaged do not turn up often.  I never had one; I sold my Palmer "collection" just a few weeks ago on eBay (loose assorted 3 colors).  They were all eBay grabs that I may have paid too much for, or bargains, but I loved 'em.  They are not easy to find.  The packaged set is so cool.  If I collected anything, it was packaging... I'm kookoo for ephemera: stuff that would have been thrown away.  Like Hepcat said, it has no intrinsic value; yet, we go apesh!t.   ;)

Shoulda kept my cyclops.  My favorite.
If you want to view Paradise, simply look around and view it.

Honestly color doesn't matter. I mean a green creature or frankenstein would be great but really it doesn't matter

I scored a pretty good haul last week. The company I work for has been going through severe downsizing. Many layoffs (my current part-time status is one of the results). They also cut the library in half to make room for offices. This was one of the best libraries in town and it's a cryin' shame. They had to get rid of lots of books. I've had a good relationship with the library for a number of years, so they allowed me to peruse the stacks. Here's part of the haul. I already had too many books but I couldn't pass this up.

The terrific Gahan Wilson set from Fantagraphics.

A bunch of the Bruce Hershenson movie poster books (I think I've got 'em all now)

Monsters For Sale

That's great for you, but a sad blow to the town.

Where do folks go to read such interesting books now - Your house?

Scary Terry

Great book haul!  The Reynold Brown book is out of print and pricey as hell on the secondary market.
