Got this in the mail over the weekend.

Topstone  Laughton Hunchback.  It's licensed , so it's a mystery why they decided to ad the gash to his face.

also got a copy of A+C meet Hyde on VHS.

Getter,
I see you live up to your name. You've certainly "gotten" enough cool stuff over a short period of time. CONGRATS! Is that a complete Green Ghost game? Always one of my favorites while growing up.... I scored one during a local phone auction shortly before the advent of Ebay. I still remember going into the nostalgia shop [Just Kids in Huntington ,NY and still there to this day!] one snowy night during the mid 90's to pick it up. it was very near the location of the former toy store [even then, long gone] where i had picked up my first one as a kid. What a weird feeling as i realized this at the time. I stood there, breathing the wintry night air deeply and felt like i had stepped into a time warp. Funny how something as simple as an old toy can evoke this kind of emotional response in us. Enjoy you stuff!

Getter, you must have mugged Santa this week!  Judging from your Tim Burton avatar, I would not be surprised to find you in cahoots with that no-account Oogie Boogie.

I gotta get one of those!  I like the Topstone licensed movie masks from the 80s.  I do have a Topstone Hunchback, and it's Laughton, but it looks completely different.  I ought to dig him up and take a picture.

Ah, i think i know the mask of which you speak.

It's a blue grey 3/4 mask with stringy hair.   If it's the mask I'm thinking, I don't think it's Topstone.  It came out sometime in the 90's.

I'm going to dig up this mask right now and find out.

This is the mask I have:

It has a "Topstone, Danbury, CT" stamp on the inside of the chin, but the letters are reversed like a mirror image.

Yup, thats him.

So it is a Topstone. I had seen a pic of one not long ago and couldn't make out the header tag, it didn't look like a TS tag.
I do remember seeing them in stores in the early 90's.  The face really stuck with me because it Really looked like CL. I assumed TS was done by then.  I'd love to see their catalogs from that time period.

I would love to see more Topstone catalogs from every decade they were in business.  The only catalogs I've seen are the 1960 one and another 60s one with the over-the-head G Line masks on the front.  I'd like to see how the classic FM masks changed over the years, and how late they were still making them.  80s?  90s?

Paper Magic bought Topstone from Illusive Concepts in 1995, according to information online.

Sweet finds Getter! I need to take a day and hit the flea markets soon! I havent done that in quite some time.

Getter_1

Neither have I.  The flea market was a lot of fun.  However, after that haul, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.  That is the largest haul I've had in years (ebay, box from japan, toy show, flea market - all in 1 week).

That's so weird! It looks like a Mario Chiodo design for sure. I always thought that IC produced that mask. I'm guessing one of two things here. Either it was a TS mask designed by Chiodo, and then passed onto IC, or the other way around.

Take care,

E.A.

Typically humble findings for ebay UK.....
2 Justtoys bend ems (I love the cards) a set of Gumball charms and card, and a cheap packet of wolfman ears; I got these because I loved the retro header card! I also ordered a set of Xono creepy classics, again because I like the packets more than the figures, and got a polar lights Frankenstein's flivver (again, love the box art)

And like Getter, I'm now skint :-[

One day, something good is gonna come up on ebay UK, I know it!
