[ I can imagine bela running after Leia "I vant to zuck your blood blah blah blah!".  Any complaints about my use of Lugosi can be addressed to my Lawyer G.Zucco & co C/O Letsbe avenue Irishstew on the spot."[/i]

Did Bela actually say this?  If not, where did this originate?

Thanks!

hello BK, I first heard this impression of Lugosi from a show I watched in the U.K. I'm not sure if the show was from the States or not but it was Frank Gorsin who said it. Maybe someone else has the answer. did you not get the address joke? Now that was funny.

It wasnt Bela if memory serves correct. Someone else imitated and overexaggerated Bela's accent and that is what we have now. I cant place my brain on who it was that orginated it though.

Probably the early '70s sketch comedy show "The Kopykats".

Why do I want to say Charlie Callas started the "blaaah blaah" thing?

Meek

Go farther back to Gabe Dell doing his version of Lugosi's  "Dracula" on Steve Allen.

    "Meek"
"I am like a Unicorn in a racing stable. Beast doesn't fit."   T.E.Lawrence

Dr.Terror

for those wondering, Gabe Dell can be heard doing Drac on the Famous Monsters speak lp.

I think he is the origin of the "I vant to suck your blood" Drac voice.
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

Hey hey hey!  I've got some "weekly finds."

There was a Mattel Slime discussion in another thread that made me yearn for my very own can o' Slime.  I've bid on Slime many times, but it always goes up over $100, which is my maximum limit on that item.  Phooey!  Ah, but now my Slime situation has improved!  I found one for $55 BIN.  It is a strange version for the Japanese market - Slime "Tadpole."  Yes, it has rubber tadpoles in it.  Weird.

It's genuine 1970s Mattel Slime, but it comes from the land of Mothra and Matango.

Here's another weekly find.

A set of AHI wind up walkers:

The carded Kong came from HHWolfman.  The loose Creature and Godzilla came from Atomic Candy.

If you're thinking, big deal, you've seen these loose 100s of times...well, no, you haven't!

The loose ones floating around are reissues, 99 percent of 'em.  Genuine 1970s AHI walkers are rare.  You can tell the difference by looking at their feet.  The original AHI ones have toes.  The reissues do not.

The reissues also tend to have different wind-up keys, but I'm not sure if that is always the case.  The surest way to tell the difference is to look at the feet.

One more "weekly find."

I think you will recognize these little rascals from another thread:

And no, I did not pay $1,000 for them.  Not even close.  I am not out of my *#$*&!% mind.  Well, maybe I am, but that is not the point.

I think this is the first time I've seen AHI pencil toppers in person.  They're pretty nifty.  The texture feels just like a regular AHI head.

They are molded in a flesh tone, then painted green and brown.  Too bad AHI never made a Dracula action figure with a green head.

Here are some flash photos from different angles:

Now I guess I have to get Frankie and Mummy.  It will probably be a loooong time before they turn up.

Hey Ray. Fantastic items! Are the pencil toppers from the recent ebay auction? I love the slime label, very, very cool! :)

Love the walkers Ray. I've also been buying lots of stuff from Atomic Candy. Great seller.
