Now that's what I call finding a hidden treasure. I'm amazed that you had that as a child. I'm even more amazed that you found it. You must have been like me and really took care of your toys. Ya see, all that heckling we suffered at the hands of other kids for being meticulous with our toys paid off. lol

I was so careful with all my toys, they were all kept it pristine condition. I remember hurling one kid across the room because he ripped a leg off a stormtrooper once - My parents thought I was nuts!

The only problem was that I had a little sister who inherited them when I grew out of them.

I found a pile of my old Mego toys, whilst looking for the mini monsters. I remember leaving them in great condition, however then, my sister got hold of them -they looked like a Gorilla had been at them! Utter devastation; limbs ripped off, faces chewed, holes poked in them. Heartbreaking! Thank god she never got her hands on the Mummy!

Chrisnurse, that is hilarious.  :D

If you break your own toys, that's one thing.  But when another kid breaks your toys, that is quite a different story!

I was always mutilating my monster toys, because that is what has to happen to monsters.  It is their destiny to be staked, beheaded, blown up, etc.  The path they walk is thorny.

But would I let another kid do that to my monsters?  NO WAY!

Gasport

Ah yes, how fondly i recall playing w/my pal Doug after it rained, out on my street where a puddle would always form. We'd bring out our Marx plastic monsters and the puddle was always a terrific place for the Creature to emerge out of. We'd pretend he lopped off the heads of the other monsters or army men, To achieve this effect, we would grind the victim's  head into the asphalt until it was no more and then bury the headless body...charming. Never a problem because a quick trip to Grant's variety store in Huntington would always yield a fresh score of blue and orange participants for only19 cents a piece. Whenever i visit the old neighborhood [which is seldom] i'm always tempted to bring a shovel to see if i could find any of them...don't think the current owners would appreciate it, though.

HA! I thought I was the only kid who buried my toys!  Man, there is a goldmine of monster toys buried in the backyard of my old house on Logan St.  I'm not sure how well preserved they would be now, but it wuld be fun to do some excavating. :D

Unknown Primate

I'm gonna call my mom right now and inform her that I wasn't the only kid who did weird things with my monsters!

LOL! ;D One of us! Gooble, Gobble...

Monsters For Sale

I bought a FunStuf Frankenstein figure with a scorched right thumb.  It puzzled me for a few seconds until I realized someone had tried to reinact a scene from Young Frankenstein.  They movie and toy came out about the same time.

Nothing very exciting this week.: A boxed Hasbro Franky and Mummy and a Tomland Yog wearing Dagons clothes!?!

The pickings are pretty slim here in the UK. :(
