Well, my new neon orange Marx Creature arrived today and it certainly is a major upgrade over my previous one. Both of them have the rectangular bar over the date, but it's obvious that while the new arrival is in much better shape with better detail, NO WAY could this be a recent repro. There is enough wear to signify this toy has the correct amount of age to it. My guess is maybe Marx covered up the dates on all the figures after 1963, rather than go to the expense of changing the date to 1964, '65 or however long these things were made. Whatever...i'm TOTALLY pleased with my upgrade...here's a side by side comparison of the two. Even with my crappy camera, it's easy to see which one is in better shape!

I'm thinking we could drop the subject of original/ repo for awhile. Mike, you're happy with your Creechs......that's all that matters.   Buddy

The Creeper

That's great Mike!  I have bee trying to find one at a decent price that has all his claws, but they always go out of my price range right now.
Long live the UMA!

Gasport

Thanks Creeper! You're right, claws almost always are an issue with these old Marx Creech figures.  And Bud, I'd still like to see any repro Marx figures you find which try to duplicate the original color schemes. Hell, if they get it right and aren't purposely trying to deceive people, i wouldn't mind owning a bright, shiny, fresh out of the mold look alike!

Gasport, i love that Charley the robot!

Gasport

Thanks Muck... Not many people even know what he is!

I found this magazine in a stack of comics.

The Garfield magazine has an article about Kevin Yagher, who creates monsters for movies, like Child's Play and NIghtmare on Elm Street. I thought it was odd that this article was in a Garfield magazine, but I guess kids had a lot more fun back then!  :)  It's a Fall 1991 magazine, and it looks like it's in decent shape. I guess my kids didn't write in it or tear out the poster.  If anyone wants it, let me know.

I saw a similar article on Kevin Yagher's SPFX work on some movie, but they didn't give his full name, and I wondered why the guy in the photo was a dead ringer for actor Jeff Yagher (whom I knew as Kyle from the old "V: The Series"). Eventually I found out they were brothers.

Got these 2 DVDs today. Phantom I picked up on ebay for a grand total of $2.32 shipped!! Night of Horror my super thoughtful wife bought for me today when she was grocery shopping at Wally World.I already have most of the movies on it, but there are 2 or 3 that I don't, and I thought it was really sweet of her to pick it up for me.
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

I added the monsters that my wife got me as a stocking stuffer for x-mas from The Toy Soldier Company and voila, my own version of the Haunted Hulk!

Those figures look like repros of the original 2 1/2" MPC Pop-Tops that populated the Haunted Hulk when it was originally issued.

The original Haunted Hulk.  Yours does remind me of the original.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

The Toy Soldier Company still sells those monster sets, I bought another one this past Christmas for a gift.  I wish they sold a glow set, but all they sell is the neon green you see in the picture.  The ship came from Uncle Fun's shop in Chicago, purchased about a year ago.  It was old store stock.  I bought two but I wish I had bought all of them now!  You can still pick them up on Ebay inexpensively.
