Radioactive Rod Whitenack

I found these Monster Cereal Hot Wheels cars at Kroger's Grocery Store with the Christmas toys today. I like the retro style artwork on Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Boo Berry. Sorry for the bad computer cam photo.

Long live the UMA!

They had cars from other classic breakfast cereals too, but thought the Monster cars would be the real interest here. I found them in the aisle with all the Christmas stuff. They were in their own cardboard display rack.

I don't need to start up another area of collecting, but the Franken Berry/Count Chocula items are really cool. The products that came out in conjunction with the cereal go back to what? The 60's? 70's?   Buddy

I'll try to get better pics of the Monster Cereal Cars. My favorite is the Boo Berry car. It's a white 1929 Ford Pickup with purple wheels, the Boo Berry logo with some scary trees and blue bats on the side and Boo Berry in front of his haunted house on the roof. The Franken Berry car is a pink custom 1977 Dodge Van with an open sun roof and a 1970's style Franken Berry face on the door. Count Chocula has a blue 1970 Chevelle "SS" Wagon with his logo on the hood, chocolate wings springing from the front tires and his image near the back.

It's just what I do and who I am. If I have x-tra something the "gang" gets it for free or minimal shipping cost. We are a family after all and IMO family shares the goodies.

You deserve all the pats!

Here's the answer from Wikipedia:

Quote from: WikipediaIn 1971, the first two cereals in the line were introduced, Count Chocula and the strawberry-flavored Franken Berry. Boo Berry, reputedly the first blueberry-flavored cereal, was released in 1973, and Fruit Brute the following year. Fruit Brute was discontinued by 1983 and replaced in 1987 by Fruity Yummy Mummy, which also had a short life as it was discontinued in the 1990s.
