All right Marsattacks! You got me! What's a Mark Monster?    Buddy

Since I have not owned an original Marx Monster as an adult I did not know that there were Repro's in the same orange color. So after reading your question I looked at the bottom of the bases. My Teal Creech has the indented circle with Louis Marx & Co. Inc at the top of the circle and also in the middle stamped 1963 in Roman numerals. It appears I have been duped(?) and ALL the orange ones have a raised blank bar where the date stamp should be. I am not sure if the orange came out later or if what I bought are all repro's. I looked at my other non monster Marx figures and even tho different colors they all have date stamps. Perhaps one of the Marx guys here can give a better answer. I DO know that I personally would pay MORE for a close to NM/NM repro in a cool vile green/purple/yellow than an original.
BTW for what it's worth ,including shipping for ALL 7 of my orange ones I paid $117 delivered which comes to about $16.66 each. Did I get hosed? Depends how you look at it. Saved me time on getting them since 6 came from the same guy. Those are great Lester and seven for that price isn't bad.  I haven't got any because they are usually too high priced.  The ones I find cheap have broken fingers, claws, or hands.  I really want a good Creech with all his claws.

Long live the UMA!

Smurf knows by Therin of Andor, on Flickr

A Smurf nose all. Is it just me, or did someone at the toy factory sew those Smurf noses on upside down?

Astro boy? by Therin of Andor, on Flickr

I know the central figure is supposed to be Astrogirl, but the packaging logo reads "Astroboy". Presumably, there are other figures in the series of "Astroboy" toys and they all have the one series logo. But he looks so cute in the pink skirt.
Thiptho lapth,

Over the last month or so I picked up some Ben Cooper and Collegeville costumes and masks.

A couple of these although in beat up boxes still had the costume sealed in the original bag. The temptation was too much so I popped them open. I bought them for the graphics afterall and I am a sucker for these fun graphics. Most of them I got at a really good price. The down side is having been folded in a box for over 30 years I'm having a hard time getting the folds out. I also only have room to display two at a time. Hope you like.

Lizard Lady

The Mighty Kong

Vampi. This one was still sealed in the bag ,hence the wrinkles and folds.

Vampi 2

Witch 1

Witch 2

Adult mask that I bought just because it was NM and pretty cool looking.

And lastly a 1991 Rubies Creech.

Thanks for lookin.

Agreed, those old costumes, so cool...

RedKing

Awesome score WL! Love those old Halloween costumes!
Hit up family Dollar's 75% off Halloween sale and got these cool decorations which will be up year round in the Monster Room. Cost me a whooping 2 bucks for all this stuff! I plan to go back and get some more!
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

Wicked Lester- I let out an ear shattering scream when I saw your costumes!! You have some beautiful treasures, my friend! I wasn't sure if I should let the cat out of the bag and make my fellow monster friends envious- but I am so enamored with the vintage witch costume you sent me!  :)
I really truly appreciate your thoughtfulness  :)  I still haven't figured out how to pemanently display my holy grail collectible yet, although I immediately placed the mask in the box with the costume and have admired it daily. Right now it's on a shelf with my monster toys, but I know there's a better way to showcase it! But it still looks really cool with the mask in the box! I keep having flashbacks of picking each costume box up and staring at it in the store, until I made the important decision of "what I was gonna be for Halloween"! And I'm not exaggerating when I use the holy grail phrase- I really feel like it's the only costume/mask I'll ever need  :)  Thanks again!
I would also have opened those exquisite costumes! Although I have not opened the costume you sent me, I imagine it displayed unfolded or on a small mannequin.
The Lizard Lady is my favorite! And yet they are all gorgeous......for some reason I seem to LOVE the girl monster costumes the best  :)

I know! The UMA is like a family reunion every day! With everybody hanging around talking and catching up on the news. Although we don't wear matching shirts......yet
I enjoy all the knowledge and stories that get shared, and I have finally met some "normal" people- which I have been looking around for since I was a kid  :)
Also, I realized that I use the smiley face symbol way too much- I noticed when I reread my previous post.  But I get so overjoyed when I talk about the generosity and kindness of my brothers and sisters at the UMA!  Anyway- WL is an awesome monster kid, which of course we already knew.
I'll post a photo when I get a chance.

Thanks for the Cyber pat on the back but really not a big deal on my end. I had 3 Witch mask sets in various states. I had a NM vinyl costume with a beat up mask. I had another with a MIB costume and a NM mask. I merely took the mask to go with the higher end costume to make a NM costume. Char was really happy she had a Witch mask she remembered from her childhood. I had an extra MIB costume(1974) that matched good with that = what is your addy? = now it's yours  8). It's just what I do and who I am. If I have x-tra something the "gang" gets it for free or minimal shipping cost. We are a family after all and IMO family shares the goodies.

Char
I am glad this little thing made you so happy. I had a REALLY CRAPPY day at work and this post by you made me almost forget about it. Enjoy Girl.

Gary, I definitely agree to that statement. Amen.
