Nice sign MDG- I love old retro stuff like that....Where are you gonna hang that?
Not quite sure, yet--probably in the snack bar, but I'll have to move a couple of things.
Thanks for the other comments

That sign is really cool - looks to be in great shape!

This is not monster-related either, but yesterday I found 5 complete Sunday Comics sections from the Boston Globe, 5 different dates all from 1962, for a buck each!

As we all know, the comics have shrunk drastically since 1962. Today's section has 25 comics jammed onto 4 pages (roughly 6 to a page). 1962's section has 24 comics spread over 10 pages, typically 3 to a page. 1962's section includes Lil Abner, Dennis the Menace, Apt 3-G, Rex Morgan MD, Mutt & Jeff, Cicero's Cat, Penny, The Berrys, The Smith Family, Tales From the Great Book, Uncle Nugent's Funland, Yogi Bear, There Oughtta Be A Law, The Strange World of Mr. Mum (love this!), Our New Age, The Captain and the Kids, Miss Peach, Steve Roper, Judge Parker, Mary Worth, Short Ribs, Kerry Drake, Mary Perkins On Stage, and Off the Record.

That's a very cool find for a buck each!

OK! This HAS to qualify as a weekly find! I thought I lost or sold this guy well over 12 years ago! I opened up a box in the basement and here he was! My Naugahyde Monster! This is one cute monster, and I sure am glad to have found him! He won't get stuffed in some forgotten box again! The wife didn't quite share my excitement......she thought he looked like a nice item to put on E-bay.....oh the horror! I'll not part with my Nauga-monster!   Buddy

Ahhhhh!! It's like getting an unexpected gift! I love finding stuff I lost- especially a cute lil monster like him/her.

Monsters For Sale

Here's an interesting curiosity I got on eBay:

This is a metal Printing Block for the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum at Lake George / Niagra Falls.
Judging by the 4" x 3" size, I am guessing that might have been used to print travel stickers/decals.

Here is a grayscale/colors reversed image:

Here is a smaller example of the same style Frankenstein face as used on a wooden nickle:

Here's a link to the auction with all of the pictures - some pictures are at the very bottom of the listing:

The wife didn't quite share my excitement......she thought he looked like a nice item to put on E-bay....

What does she propose to do with the money from an Ebay sale? Buy shoes? Another purse?

Cool find! I was in Lake George last year but wasn't able to go into the House of Frankenstein, but I admired it from the sidewalk.

RedKing

I have always lived near Lake George and the House of Frankenstein museum has always been a favorite destination. As a kid it scared the heck out of me and in recent years they stocked a nice selection of Universal Monster books, models and toys, plus they always have a guy dressed like Frankie outside  that you can get your pic taken with. About ten years ago they also opened a seperate UFO museum as well.
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!
