Well, I snagged a pic off the web, but found this at TRU this last weekend.

Not monsteriffic, but still a fangtastic snag for me!

Thanks for the heads up- I need to own one!

Gareee

They are moving VERY fast.. most online places are already sold out. More are promised for july/august as well though.

Most Toys r us seem to have some local stock still.

Hi Fiends and Plastic Simian Experts -  I've picked a few cool  items so far this month, one of which has me a bit curious. Maybe someone here can enlighten me. First picture is a Moldarama King Kong directly from the Moldarama website.

Next picture on left is a Moldarama Gorilla from the zoo here in St Paul. You can still watch and smell these being made to order. Notice  it's the same mold as Kong although it says Como Zoo instead of King Kong. On the right is one I just got today - seller listed as King Kong, but it doesn't say anything, is a completely different and smaller mold.

I am wondering where this smaller guy came from? A home kit? A gas station? Skull Island? I've never seen this version or this size. The Moldarama site shows two apes, one sitting and the Kong style, but none like this little guy.  Anyone else have any ideas? Please put your banana skins on my desk when finished thanks!

Don't know nothin' about it, but here's another one.

Congrats! I sooooooo want that but my local stores suck. I've decided to just hold of for the release of the 1966 movie on Blu-ray. They are doing a deluxe box set with the car...

Gareee

Yep... though it does cost quite a bit more that way. There's also been no word on what version of the 1:18th will be boxed. (There's the basic $30 version, a $89 version with more accuracy, and a $250 elite version with sound, lights and even more moving parts and accuracy.)

I'm just happy having the basic one though.

That 1966 Batmobile is Toy Of The Year in my book, maybe the decade!

Fans of the Barris' Futura Batmobile have been waiting for this car in accurate, large scale for almost 40 years(!), thanks to rights issues. We rejoice, the battle is over! The sweetest thing about the toy it that they computer scanned the actual car for perfect accuracy, body-wise. And I had to buy one... last year I loaned my hot rod to the Petersen Auto Museum in LA, and it was displayed right around the bend from the REEL Barrismobile for over a year. I was so pleased when I found that out...I have vintage Adam West DNA floating around my ride... :D

The 'Super Elite' version will have leather seats and all kind of jazz.

Now if they could only iron out that DVD-rights thing on the original show... :(

Gareee

Yeah it's been a want/love of mine for 30 years. Since Mattel also owns Tyco, and Hotwheels has been doing 1:18th scale rc cars recently, I emailed them asking if they thought of doing a 1:18th rc version. They could use the same base molds for the body, and reuse the same rc componants from the hotwheels 1:18th cars... and maybe give us a retro bat shaped rc control unit.

They sell the 1:18th rc cars for $30.. I'd gladly pay another $30 for a rc batmobile with working head n tail lights...

...and don't forget the flashing beacon!

An R/C version would be nice to have. For so long I've wanted ANYTHING, as long as it was accurate. I frequent a couple of 66 Bat boards, and this damn car- in 1:18 or 1:24 scale- has been a hot topic for the many years I've been posting there. It really is something that all the legal crap was finally ironed out and that they actually produced this incredible piece!

Toy Ranch

That's very cool.  Gotta go find one of those...

Gareee

Actually I'd KILL for a 1:6 scale rc 66 batmobile, and I'd happily pay sideshow toys prices for a batman and robin to put in it.

Heck, I'd even spring for some batman 66 catwomen!

Monster Bob

Not a rare toy by any means, this made me very happy none the less...a sealed AF card game.

BTW, here's a pic of the '66 being scanned down at Barris' LA shop...

Yeah I can dream, can't I?

And a TV Addam's family 12" license from someone would be REALLY nice.. wonder if we should blow in Amok Time's ear  for something like this?

I'm sure they'd do Gomez and Morticia first, but I know I'd spring for every family member, and if memory serves there are even 12" scale wicker chairs like Morticia's.

I'd rather see Amok get that license then sideshow though, since the retail prices would be 50% less.
