From what i've heard, blue is the most desirable color of  the Palmer monsters...CONGRATS!
The tan and white colors are much more scarce, but the blue ones are certainly harder to find - and worth more than the more common colors to hardcore Palmer collectors.

I haven't contributed anything to this thread in a long time.  Haven't been doing much serious collecting this year.  But I did get a pretty cool addition recently, a Tri-ang clockwork Loch Ness Monster with its box.

These are tin and plastic windup Nessies from the 60s.  At least I assume they're from the 60s...could be 70s, but they look 60s.  No date on the box.

I've had the one on the right for a few months, but the one on the left and its accompanying box arrived just this week.  Neither toy works.  They are both missing their windup keys and the rubber on their wheels has rotted away.  I'm surprised the string is still intact.

She's pretty cute.  I say "she" because of those pretty eyelashes.  Obviously a female Nessie.  So even though I have two, no mating is possible.  I won't open a box in the basement one day and find it swarming with embryonic Nessies.  As we know from watching Jurassic Park, a population made up entirely of females cannot reproduce.  Oh wait...  Well, I'm not worried about it.

I like the box art on 60s tin toys.  Reminds me of the art on fireworks packaging.  Dig the fire coming out of Nessie's nostrils.  She's heaving herself up out of the Loch, climbing on shore.

I've been looking for this weird little Nessie toy for many years.  I didn't know it was made by Tri-ang.  Once I found that out, it made ebay searches a lot easier.  Tri-ang was known for toy trains.  You can see how this toy kind of resembles a train.

I think it is supposed to wiggle as it moves along.  Maybe one day I'll get a working one and shoot video of it wiggling across the floor, being chased by the Marx Yeti.  The Yeti moves pretty slow, so I think this Nessie would outrun him with no problem.

Was checking out the local Craig's List when I spotted a small image of this  in a photo of  items for sale. Got right on it! This is a Marx Drincar. A super cool battery-op tin car from the 60's. I haven't gotten it to work with batteries in it, but even as a display piece it's a knock-out!  I had known of this monster item for along time, but the ones that I've seen for sale were usually very expensive. Truly had no hope of ever adding this item to my collection.  Got this baby for $25. The graphics on the car are wonderful, from the exhausted radiator with his tongue hanging out to the wild monsters on every hubcap. And the driver! He is soft-plastic and rocks forward and backwards. Very Weird-oh/Nutty Mad like.  Is anyone able to tell me why Marx named this a Drincar?    Later, Bud

Wicked Lester

This is just a part of what I have bought in the last month. Sorry about the crappy pics. My haunted camera reset itself again. Kat says they look creepier like that tho I have been getting the evil eye and a few smacks for spending too much on Evilbay.

VXX-FX Teenage WW which I have wanted for a loong time.

Got this for $10 and it is dead mint.

I know these are pretty common but I LOVE the blowmold stuff.

He is a little warped but still cool. I'll prob have to but him in an open shadow box frame unless I can figure out out to un-warp him.

Thanks for looking.
