That is the color that the bandages are supposed to be.  Some were white, others were that tannish color like yours.  For goodness sake, DON'T try to mess with them!  That red paint will run all over and it will ruin the figure.  Plus that one appears to be originally wrapped, and that increases the value of it to many collectors.

Very nice score, by the way.  Now you need to buy my Lincoln Wolfman!

That's great news!  Everyone I've seen packaged have has white bandages.  I would have bought your wolfman for sure, but already had one.  Now just need dracula and hunchback.

Drac & Hunchback are two of the relatively easier ones to find, so you are lucky there.
