Finding Beatles stuff is always cool!  Great find, Kevin!

Today I ended a ten plus year quest. Manuel Sanjulian is an artist who has painted covers for Vampirella, Creepy, Eerie, Famous Monsters and many paperback covers including Conan. In 1991 a French publisher released a hardback color book full of his wonderful paintings, full page and a few fold out spreads! It went out of print, and I have never seen it for under $70 or so. I never thought I would own a copy. The only other art book of his is a black and white (!) paperback collection. My daughter went to Paris last year and I had her look for a used copy for me there.

Two weeks ago I found a copy with the dust jacket through Alibris.com and it was listed at just under $10 including shipping!!!! My heart started racing. I double checked the isbn and it was indeed the French book!! I ordered it immediately. I waited patiently dreading an email telling me the seller made a mistake. It arrived today! It's in very good shape with just a couple small tears in the dust jacket.

Underwood Books is releasing a new collection of his paintings of Robert E Howard characters this Fall. It's a happy day!!

Congrats Mike.  It's nice to find Holy Grails and even better when they're priced like that.

Thanks, Rob. Although this one isn't in the book, I promised I'd post a larger scan if I ever found one.

This is just stunning, to me.

I didn't go nuts in the dealers room at this past Chiller Theatre in New Jersey, even though I really-really-really wanted to buy almost everything I came across.  Here is what I did get:

(I've been looking for this book by John Skerchock, and he signed it too!)

(signed by Zacherely himself)

(The screenplay to one of my favorite Universal Monster movies, and yes I followed along with the script when I watched the DVD on Monday)

(Got to pick up a FM whenever you can)

Picked these little buggers up today at a local Goodwill. I haven't the slightest idea what they are or who made them. No identifying writing or logos on them, and as far as I can tell they just sit on a shelf.

We've got Drac, Frankie, Mummy, a witch, a black cat and a pumpkin. Anyway, I LIKE 'EM!! And for $.99, how can ya go wrong??

This wasn't my find but rather an early birthday present from my brother-in-law.  My sister-in-law had previously tried to get this for me with no luck and then her brother made a guy an offer on it and he sold it to him.  Now I have no other funerary items in my collections just monsters but my brother-in-law and sister-in-law both thought I'd like it since I have a love for monsters/halloween/horror.

For those wondering or who are not sure it is an embalming machine which actually still works.  It came from a funeral home in New Boston, Il that closed years ago.  My brother-in-law paid $25 for it and nearly had a heart attack when I told him I looked it up and saw that one sold on Ebay for $350.  He started saying, "Well if you don't want it, give it back to me.  Don't sell it.".  I know there are those out there that collect this type of thing, though I've never really been into it. I'm thinking of turning it into a fish bowl with a beta, some ghost shrimp and maybe a frog.

I never noticed before but looking at the picture the machine looks like it's smiling (I think it's the picture angle) reminds me of an old Disney cartoon.
