- that is a really awesome record there! I agree that the artwork alone as a display piece is really nice!

I want to get those sodas, they are cool!  The record is great and a great price!  And those monster vitamins really take me back!
Long live the UMA!

Then you all should be enjoying Heroes this season. Knepper is in a Main role on there. It is pretty good this season. HHW

Marsattacks,

A friend of mine had that record when we were kids.  We used to sit in the dark and listen to it and freak out.  LOL!!

Thanks, Jeff, and I'm with you, Mamby...I have been enjoying him on HEROES as well. Hard to believe Knepper was almost a forest ranger in "real life" (!)

Awesome Sleestak.

I don't know about where the rest of you live, but here in California, the latest "cool" hairstlye for the last 3 years or so has been the "FauxHawk" which is greasing up one's hair and pushing it up from the sides into a perfect point, making the wearer look exactly like a Sleestak.  It mostly affects males in the 18-30 age group, and in a few sad cases, individuals slightly older.

I was recently at a convention of aspiring young creative types, and from the back of the room it looked like a Sleestak convention with all their pointy heads looking at the King Sleestak on stage.  If you walk by a night club, you will see a pod of smoking Sleestaks out front vying for the attention of females, who are all frantically texting other females to find out if any other club has a better collection of Sleestaks.

The FauxHawk will certainly be as embarrassing to the wearers (and as funny to the rest of us) as the Mullet is now to those who so proudly wore them in the late 80s and early 90s.  (I often wonder if that thought occurs to FauxHawkers as they pose for facebook photos making a shaka sign with one hand and a drink in the other.

My apologies to anyone reading this who is rocking a FauxHawk.  (...then again, you might thank me!)  I do wish they would call it the "Sleestak" though.

WHAT YOU TALKIN' BOUT AHICREATURE?!??!?!?!

Simply beautiful Gracebuster.  Remind us when and who your charactrer was there...I know I saw that.  Seems like one of those
"teen angst" movies of the late 80's (Weird Science, or Some kind of wonderful?  Breakfast club?) what was that character from??  Obviously ahead of your time (pre mainstream fauxhawk) yet true to your Sleestak roots.

Awesome.

Looks like Eddie from Rocky Horror.

It's Biscuit from "Dudes", I believe.  It's been awhile.

Looks like Eddie from Rocky Horror.

....or maybe one of the Biker Gang under Lord Humoungous in Road Warrior?

GAKENSTEIN

Gotta love Danny.  No shame whatsoever.

Umm...thanks for sharing??
"Supernatural perhaps, baloney perhaps not!"

Let's play Name-the-Frank! I'll show three Frankenstein Monsters I picked up at thrift shops this season. None have any markings, not even a "made in...". First a plush body blowmolded with wild make-up. I wondered if this wasn't a crane toy also:

Next an odd hard plastic head. The eyes, teeth and stitches are glow. The rest has a strange marbley finish. It looks like an art project but it's too well made. The glow features suggests maybe part of a game?

Finally, today I found this blowmolded monster, believe it or not it's not a flashlight, at least there is no switch or electrical contacts of any kind. The head screws off and the body at second glance reminds me of a large neck bolt. No candy smell. It looks maybe old. Those aren't holes in the eyes. Hmph. I'm stumped Maybe I'll sell it as a bike buddy JK

Here's a pic of all three together to show the relative scale -

I like all three of these for being weird plastic not new Frankensteins. If anyone claims they've seen these somewhere before I'd sure be interested in knowing where. If not...I have a special shelf for monsters anonymous and maybe you'll just get a kick out of the pics!

fmofmpls

Paul, I'll be "frank" with you. I have no idea what any of those are.

The one with the black handle is old and is a Halloween flashlight. I've seen it shrinkwrapped before, with a piece of paper under the wrap (with the name of the toy on it).
