I had no idea he was so "Adventurous".

Rosey Greer would knit on the sidelines.

from what bits I know about Thesiger he was a pretty adventurous man on quite a few fronts!  ;D He also wrote an autobiography prior to appearing in horror films, presumably about his stage career, but that one's more difficult to find.

Monster Bob

Just picked this up this morning.

This is a 9' X 10' "tropical" scenic backdrop, used from 1948-1963, at NBC-TV in Chicago, used in hundreds of productions.

Likely used on some of Ned Locke's shows (Ringmaster "Mr. Ned" from WGN's BOZO'S CIRCUS) during his tenure there, such as on UNCLE NED'S SQUADRON, etc. in the 1950s.

I figure that everyone knows what this looks like...I picked an Ideal Haunted House today at the local flea market. It is missing two pegs, instructions and jewel. Has box, insert card, and two pegs and a really cool haunted house. The guy was using ebay as a price guide, so I am glad there were no games on ebay today and that he didn't search completed auctions. I offered $20, and he was so quick to take my money I knew I could have got it for less. Very happy today. Thanks to this site I knew what I was looking at and had drooled enough to know I was taking it home no matter what.

Sometimes you'll see the opposite on eBay Freddie...keep a lookout

Least you have a Flea market, Freddie. The once-a-month flea market here has become once a year. Thanksgiving weekend only.

I see from the "bay" you weren't to enamoured with him? That or you didn't feel like waiting for the bike and winder to show up? Lol!

a little too modern for my tastes. i was married with kids in 1977 so i wasn't buying this kind of stuff back then.  i recently had the complete Frankie Cycle and i sold that one for $75... so why hang on to this one...id rather see someone complete their Drac cycle if they needed the figure.

Wow! We had these in Australia. They would have been Scanlen's here. Scanlen's distributed US Topps' stuff in Australia.

I recall they "blind-packed". I knew one was Flying Uncle Sam, and I note he's incuded in that link above. I remember once, in 1967, my parents and grandparents collected us from school one Friday afternoon (instead of walking home) to attend a family wedding 100 miles away - and they caught my younger brother emerging from the corner store (off-limits!) with a newly-purchased "Flying Thing" in his hand, having used change from his lunch order or money raided from a piggy bank. It was confiscated while still sealed. It sat high on a kitchen cupboard for years and eventually went out in a charity store collection box, without us ever knowing what "Flying Thing" was inside the package!
Thiptho lapth,

That's a great story!  I love old toy remembrances like this.

That's the way I am too. I'm diffident about anything "after my time". But show me something even as modest as vending machine trinkets from when I was in grade school and I'm fascinated!

;D
