Went to the county's annual used book sale and found a copy of Gifford's A Pictorial History of Horror Movies for a couple of bucks. Unfortunately the great dust cover was long gone but, interestingly there was a faint kid's foot print on the cover.

Makes me wonder how it got there. Maybe a kid, terrified of the book, kicked it away in fear. Inscribed inside: "To Gwen from Poopie(?) 9.23.73" Thanks Poopie!

If that's Poopie's footprint you might wanna disinfect that book before reading it ;)

Does that book have lots of footnotes?

I'm more familiar with that guy on the right as the Anthrax "Not Man"; da-da-da-da-da NOT!'

GOOD EYE zombiehorror! I was wondering if someone would notice that. Yeah anthrax utilized this toy as their mascot. Although Im pretty sure it came before anthrax did. These used to be sold in tourist shops and such. They used alot of other fringe pop culture along with their music. I remember they were into teenage mutant ninja turtles way before they became a cultural phenominon. They were just a comic book at the time. Same with judge dredd. Several of their songs were based on stephen king characters. The walkin dude, And Misery for example. I was a huge fan of anthrax and remember the exitement of going to the record store  to buy their new albums as soon as they were released. I've often wondered how much influence anthrax had on the popularity of some of the characters they publicly promoted in their t-shirts they wore and the stickers and paintings on their guitars, and even the lyrics in the music.

Who put those out? How were they sold?

???

Collecting! It's what I do!

Monolith

Hallmark put those out in the '60's. I don't know if they were sold in a box or inividually, I don't think I've ever seen them in a boxed set.
I've got a couple more with different pictures on 'em packed away somewhere, so the ones in this photo are not all of them. They also made postcards
that look just like the greeting cards, I have some of those, too.

SCATTER-   MAYBE?!?! Apparently you didn't read the UMA terms of service. Either post the pics Private, or it's 3 weeks of KP for you.
