1. Drunk drivers.
2. Drunken NASCAR fans
3. Drunken football fans
4. Mega-churches. (Anything over 10,000 members just seems like a Cyanide Kool-Ade party waiting to happen.)
5. Poisonous spiders. We have a Zombie Censored of a lot of them in NC!

4. Bees. I wont kill anything unless I have to but the last few times I got stung it got pretty bad, actually I should go to the dr and get one of those pens but I've been lazy about it. With that, when bees are around I'm usually not.

My mother is convinced that killer bees are coming to get her and has been tracking their movements for years.

OK, you axed for it. I will not discuss or elaborate:

People/politicians of a certain persuasion
Religion (as opposed to spirituality)
Mega banks & corporations
Losing friends & loved ones
Any harm befalling friends & loved ones

I'm not sure I'm entirely over that either.

Brava, Flower!

And it managed to last almost 5 centuries. It had a pretty good run. ;)

Many of us seem to share certain things we find scary....Getting sick, loosing loved ones, disease, world affairs, unstable and violent people, drunk drivers, etc...for good reasons obviously.

What I really find interesting is more of non real life fears/irrational (unlike the rational fears that are more universal like the ones I just mentioned).

Ventriloquist dummies... Mannequins....Bridges......now these are things that probably don't scare many people, yet I can see how these things could be scary and unsettling (especially under the right circumstances).

Here's 5 more for me...

1. Stepping on something sharp...like a piece of glass on the beach, or a rusty nail as you browse for some collectibles at a barn sale (although this is a very rational fear...kind of like the shark just below the surface).

2. Wind....especially on those dark cold nights when everything is quiet, and then you get that slow building howl from the wind.

3. Certain dolls....they can look like they will come alive and pick you off with scissors or a knife, laughing as they do it.

4. Alien Abduction/encounters....not like this has happened to me or I even believe in it, but I have driven down a few lonely roads in my time (I live in the country) and I've seen strange lights (they usually just turn out to be some weird car lights or farm equipment lights)....But once or twice the thought has crossed my mind...What would I do if there was some UFO hovering around or parked near the road?

5. Worms.....I find them gross. I do like to fish once in a while, and it's not like I can't bait a hook, but worms are kind of disturbing.

charp13

Stepping on sharp things is something I experience daily in this house of a thousand Legos that I live in, but I don't worry too much about it and I keep my tetanus shot booster current-especially since I cut my finger tip off a few years back.
worms are cooool! Hahahaha! Except for when I was working at a certain daycare center and we all came down with pinworms! Parasites are NOT cool!
All of the very real things that scare us like- disease, violence, world affairs, etc. are things we usually cannot control (for the most part), so I think that's why they scare us so much'
A lot of things scare us that we can easily avoid- like dark woods under a full moon, deserted old castles, abandoned asylums, and mad scientist laboratories!

I wish that I had some "deserted old castles, abandoned asylums, and mad scientist laboratories!" locally and could put them to good use .. even if only for a blast of a Halloween party.

Cemeteries at night also scare me because of crime, not because of ghosts or ghouls ... I figure if I've done nothing to offend a ghost or ghoul, that it shouldn't have issue with me.

I took this girl to a double-bill of "The Island of Dr. Moreau" (Burt Lancaster, Michael York) and "Squirm," and she developed a pathological fear of worms after "Squirm"!

I remember seeing "The Island of Dr. Moreau" on TV when I was a little kid, and it scared me....It's been years since I've seen that one, and I was just thinking about watching that again at some point in the near future. I don't know if I saw "Squirm" or not....Sounded like a fun double feature!

1) Spiders. In one way or another in my head they are ALL the brown recluse and they are ALL trying to bite me. (Moths too.)
2) Losing someone close to me in a painful way.
3) The dark.
4) Abusive controlling anger in people. You never know when they'll snap.
5) Losing my looks. I know, it seems shallow...but I fear it. See, I don't have a whole lot else to offer. I'm not a cook, I detest cleaning up after others...I guess I just fear I don't have much else to offer. It's silly, I know.
