With Halloween Coming Up,  I Am Thinking Of Going To One Of Kansas Cities  Haunted Houses.  There Are Several Good Ones.  "The Edge Off Hell"  "The Beast" And  "The Main Street Morgue" There Used To Be A "Haunted Hey-Rack Ride"  Where You Could Shoot Zombie Actors With  Paint-Ball Guns..   Any Good Ones In Your Town?

In the past, I've been a part of Heritage Haunt in NewHall CA, but in recent years, demands of work and home have prevailed so I've had to step away. It takes from local history and legends, and his a non-profit fundraiser for the local Historical Society. This could be the last year, unless more profits are realized, and it is sad too because endless hours of hard work put in by volunteers. If you're in SOCAL come support it. This year it kicks off with a Zombie March-to benefit the local Food pantry.

In Long Beach, CA, there is the HMS Queen Mary, a real haunted ship used during WWII...they do a haunted thing there called "Shipwreck!" with several walk-throughs (a couple inside the bowels of the ship itself) and many actors and effects.  The supposed "actual" hauntings on the ship are well known and varied, and given the Queen Mary's history, I am not too surprised.  I have gone to their haunted Halloween event a couple of times, and it's very cool.  In fact, here's a little story about it--a creepy story!

A friend of mine said that the time he went, he saw something that he believes was an actual ghost while going through one of the walk-throughs.  I believe him, too, just because I don't get the impression he's lying.  He saw a young boy sitting on the safety rail on a walkway, who vanished within an eyeblink, as he lost sight of the kid while walking past a metal pipe/tube of some type.  There was no place the kid could've run to in that short moment, and no way the kid could have vanished except by dropping off the safety rail to the lower levels (which would have been fatal, probably).  Whatever the case, my friend looked this way and that way, and down to the lower levels, and the kid was just...gone.

I Grew Up In California (Palos Verdes)  And Took A Tour Of The Queen Mary & The "Spruce Goose" When I Was A Kid.   I  Heard Lots Of Workers Were Killed Building The Hull Of The Ship And Their Remains Were Just Sealed Into The Vessel.  I'm Sure It Is Haunted, And I Bet They Have A Great Haunted House.  I Checked It Out Online And The Pictures Look Awesome. The Ones In Kansas City Open This Weekend I Believe.   They Have Gotten Quite Expensive, But There Are Discount Packages Available For "Multiple" Haunted Houses.............

  I like the Mysterious Mansion in Gattlinburg Tenn. , which uses both live actors and animatronics.  Best of all, open spring to early winter.

There aren't any attractions right here in town. Supposedly, there are a few cemeteries in town that are genuinely haunted. Also, the old Gaston County Courthouse is supposedly haunted. It was featured on one of these haunted reality shows that I never watch.

In nearby Belmont, NC, there's The Haunted Mill. They open in late September, and again the last weekend in March for the Mad Monster Party horror con in Charlotte, too. There's all sorts of small, independent places: the Haunted Campgrounds, Terror By the Creek, etc. And, on the NC/SC border, Carowinds amusement park becomes Scarowinds. Heard that's actually quite cool and fun.

The Haunt in Grand Rapids, Michigan is the best attraction in the state, and certainly one of the best in the country!

When I visited Myrtle beach, we saw the Haunted House run by Ripley, which was themed after a haunted casket factory.
