I got permission to start a D&D campaign...if any players or non players are in.

it will be 2nd edition, since I have played it the most, since 1990..
I have  all the books needed to start playing as well as other books with new classes and races.
I will DM and play a character as well...we can use Chatzy chat site to have our fights, since it has a dice roll there...(Me and Bill use to have battles there  using the dice)
I will dummy down the character sheet to the Basic style..which is simple to use.
If you have played D&D before, awesome..and if you haven't, but would still like to try it...it is easy to learn, and I will help you all the way.
We will start at 1st level..and go from there...
There are plenty of Maps to use for Quests, I have seen many online.
And since 1992, I have been a full time DM and Player with friends here at home.

So, with all that said....is anyone interested in trying this with me?

Yes, count me in.  I've only played 4th edition and 3.5 edition.  But I would love to play online with your help and with some help on 2nd edition.

I have played 4th edition as well...have the core books....4th is okay, I just got tired of the DM who was running it..cause he always tried to push characters on me...."Dude..you gotta play a Warforged Warlord, it's bad ass...here  I made a character..play him"
And I was like..."no...I dont wanna be the leader, I wanna play a striker."
Humans are my fave race cause they get the +2 any where on stats...and Bonus At-Will/Feat/Skill.
Fave Class?....hmm...either Ranger or Warlock.

never got into 3rd or 3.5

Oh, and I heard they are making a 5th edition now.

kinda hard to play D&D with just 2 people, I was hoping for a few more players...that way I can strictly DM.
