If you owned a monster...

In the novel, The Monster did flat out murder Victor's best friend, his wife, his little brother (and even framed their maid for the crime!).

I have four choices

Frankenstein's monster- I would teach him to work with me, bring in some income and keep my boss from harrassing me.

The Mummy- Who wouldn't want a 3000 year old tomb guardian? Easy to maintain- Just some tanna leaves now and then, and I can order him to strangle people.

A hunchbacked Assistant- Excellent around the house, Picks up after me, cleans the house while I'm gone and helps me in my cooking and weapons experiments.

The Golem: For much the same reason as Frankenstein- But easier to maintain. Only downside would be powering him on certain phases of the moon and not falling asleep after giving him an order to load the dishwasher.

Easy- Metaluna Mutant. They are quiet and seem like cool cats. Plus, they have mad mining skills, so they can provide gems/gold/anything valuable that they can find in the yard. And they are attractive (to me) and look like they would be good at spooning duing a scary thunderstorm. I also like the way they have those hook hands, which could hold my purse when we go shopping! They are close to human sized, so there would be no problem fitting my alien in the car. I can think of tons of activities that would be way more fun with my Mutant  :)

I would be afraid to own any monster. I do realize that
most Monsters are misunderstood, tortured and blood-
driven. But, the thought of owning something that could
possibly go unhinged. No thanks.

The Creature, Wolfman, Godzilla, Blob, etc, all dangerous. :o
Metaluna, scary!

I'm pretty sure I would go with the Vampira or Elvira route.  ;)

Of course he did. He had no training. He was abandoned by his father, Victor.  Not a mistake I'd make.

I'm not sure whaat I'd own, but I think a vampire or mummy.  I do have a book I got waaaaaay back in 1969 or 70 called How To Care For Your Monster.  It was put out by Scholastic Books and tells kids how to care for a vampire, werewolf, mummy, or Frankenstein's monster pet, so I do have a how-to book to help me.

That is quite true.
