Winton Kelly's piano playing on this is sublime.

I've been on a strict Nick Cave diet (brain food). Just finished the brilliant "Henry's Dream". This has some crazy , apocalyptic lyrics. Here's a sample from "Papa Won't Leave You Henry":

"It's the rainy season where I'm living
Death comes leaping out of every
   doorway
Wasting you for your money, for your
   clothes
And for your nothing
Entire towns being washed away
Favelas exploding on inflammable
  spillways
Lynch-mobs, death squads, babies
  being born without brains
The mad heat and the relentless rains
And if you stick your arm into that
   hole
It comes out sheared off to the bone"

Incredible writing, none better.

Wicked Lester

Considering I am BIG fan of the genre,I'm not sure how this just went stealth under my radar.
Kick ass death metal from my neck of the woods.
Cranked up scares people which is lots of fun. Especially when a station wagon of nuns gets along side me at a LOOng red light. Zombie Shocked

Listening to new record from Hopesfall called "Arbiter."

Hopesfall def the best space-core band out there. If you like space-rock, melodic hardcore, metal, and/or heavy alt rock, then do yourself a favor and listen to this band.

Long live the king \m/

I gotta say that I know that many people are into the MF and King Diamond stuff but I just don't get it.
Now many of you long time members here know me as an older guy that pretty much lives on extreme metal and HC styles of music.
So that being said I HATE KD and anything he has done.
I saw him waaaaaaay back in 91" and the show was stupid as hell. He came out in his corpes paint, started screaming and threw a rag doll corpse into a coffin. It was soo cheesy I was laughing my ass off as my buddy was practicly having a hard rock orgasm.
Being a fan of selective Black Metal bands it comes down to the delivery of the mssg.
REAL Black metal I'll give a listen BUT when you have to listen to incoherant shrieks like your balls in a blender?! Pleasa, keep me out of it
coh

Here IMO is REAL Black Metal Balls out and to the core.  HappyHalloween.

Obviously im one of those huge king diamond fans, but ive said it's an acquired taste. So i understand why he's not everyone's favorite. But i do find it interesting considering you love black metal. Ask pretty much every single black metal band if they love King Diamond and im pretty sure you'll get a 100% say they do. Look at how all the European bands rock corpse paint---thats an obvious King influence right there. I think even the old school guys like Venom and Bathory were into Mercyful Fate. And alotta death metal bamds cite MF and King as influences. Neverthless, regardless of how influential King is, his music is def not black metal or death metal---it's basically power metal. So again, i aint mad at cha. The king is not for everyone but he's def one of my fav rock n roll monsters.
