I'm listening to this:
BEASTIE BOYS Licensed To Ill

I enjoy Low for BOWIE best, by far.
If you want to view Paradise, simply look around and view it.

This Was by Jethro Tull was both the band's first and its bluesiest LP:

It hit record store shelves in 1968 at the same time as Led Zeppelin I and it was This Was that I bought immediately.

Cream were the band that veritably defined the blues-rock genre.

I need to get my own copy of Wheels of Fire... I had it on vinyl, long gone, but I want the CD (yeh, I am old school and don't do downloads much)...  ;)

I'm on a BEASTIE BOYS and '80s Hip hop kick these days:
Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump

I'm so old school that vinyl remains my format of choice, with SACDs/CDs in distant second. Here's a poll I did on the subject:

I wouldn't even know how to download.

Hey! That last one can't be on vinyl.

I remember when I first bought this LP in 1967. I was spellbound! There was an earthy undercurrent to their recordings that  made the Beatles sound like innocent choirboys.

I didn't realize at the time that this earthy undercurrent was due to the Stones' music being more of a direct derivative of the blues.

Wicked Lester

Death Stars. Sounds like an evil darkside of 80's Sisters of Mercy with some M Manson influence. compare the two and see if I'm wrong.

Hey Hepcat you should find smaller images to post, or get a picture hosting freebie, reduce with MS Paint, upload to freebie, all set.   :)
I gave up on vinyl around the time "everybody" did.  I only kept about 100 vinyl records (though have more now) CDs are easier.  I "sold" my collection in an unload scenario and gave away many things I'd treasure now.

DE LA SOUL Three Feet High and Rising

What the hell? I thought the UMA program automatically reduces the size of images. It certainly does when I upload from Photobucket, but evidently not when I take the easier route of linking to Amazon.

Digital is about convenience. If you want the ultimate in fidelity, you stick with vinyl which delivers a far warmer, richer, lusher sound than digital. Vinyl on a decent turntable ($500+) blows digital away in blind listening tests. I'm still haunting old record stores to amass the vinyl ditched by people who aren't music buffs and went with the convenience of digital.
