Hey, I know that distributor! I used to sell UGA merchandise in front of UGA's Baptist Student Center with a couple from my church when the Bulldogs played. Would drive by that distributor every weekend to work!

Look at the commercial I found! LOL
Pepsi and Doritos Monster Match (1991)

Whoa, that actor was a pretty good match for Karloff!

I know.  I was thinking the same exact thing.  Should've made a movie.

Don't limit yourself to Pepsi.  Some items will be listed under Doritos.

I believe the Creature appeared on Mountain Dew cartons.

Our local Food Lion put out a huge, 7-ft tall inflatable Frankenstein monster figure every year for a good decade or so. It came from an early 90s Pepsi/Lays promotion like this. Every year, I'd start to ask them about selling it, but they used it every year, so I figured they wouldn't. And then one year, it didn't show up. And then later that winter, the store closed. Sigh.

You guys do realize that the party monsters depicted in this thread were later stylized versions of earlier Pepsi /Dorito art? The earlier art played it straight without the party hats, etc. This earlier art was also featured on Pepsi 12 packs and Dorito bags.

* edit - I guess an example was shared in the first post. Here it is again.

I am surprised your husband has not been aware of this.  Pepsi / Frito-Lay and the Universal Monsters have been pairing up since 1991.  They did all of these promotions in the early '90s with various displays for the grocers, etc.  They continued the pairing into the early 2000s, though to a lesser extent.  Lifesize illustrated cutouts of the characters would appear in stores in the early part of the decade.  The partnership was dormant for much of the mid-2000s, but was revived two years ago.  And now various stores have different displays at Halloweentime, featuring actors in official Universal Monsters costuming.

This is the only arch I know of - but they are not inside a window:

I think she's talking about the Universal Monster arches they have used for the past two Halloweens.  They have actors dressed as the Bride and the Monster and they are inside a window/door while a costumed couple is out front enjoying Pepsi/Frito products.

Last year, Frito came out with the Universal Monsters chip bags:

The new stuff is definitely not as cool as the promos of the '90s, but it's still nice to see the UM logo every now and then.
