WOW! I had both the T-Rex & the Triceratops back in the very early '70's when I was four or six or thereabouts. But I had COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM until now! After seeing those pictures it all comes back to me. How they moved. How they sounded. The feel of the plastic. How they eventually lost some  limbs but I still kept them around for a long time.

It's like a little section of my brain full of those memories just got turned back on because I looked at this thread.

Pretty darn awesome -- both the dinosaurs AND my brain gettin' fixed like that.

This place rocks.

Courtesy of a friend at Plaidstallions.com, this is a scan of the dinosaurs as they appeared in the 1973 Wish Book:

George, that is cool!  Can you get me a bigger scan, so I can print one to put with my robots?

Thanks!

I think Brian is planning to feature them on his site next week. He may have a bigger scan on the site then. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks George.  Great addition to this thread.  Gotta love the "wishbook"!

For what it's worth...
I don't have a 1973 Sears wish book but I do have a beat up, complete 1971 one. Unfortunately, the dinosaurs are grouped with other robots. Here is the picture ad and price ad. I scanned them as large as possible if anyone wants to make a display copy.
Best,
Richard

Too cool! Richard, your the man! I like the group animal shot. Lions, hippos, leopards, and prehistoric dinosaurs all existing in harmony. Just like the Garden of Eden.  :D

Awesome Richard!  I always wondered if they made other Dinosaurs, but now I know they made other animals!

I probably circled it in the wish book for Santa when I was a kid.  Dinosaurs were my 2nd favorite after monsters.

Richard .. while you have that wish book of yours handy, may I ask if there are any uni-monster toy ads inside that book? If so, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I ask you to indulge us with monster toy spam from days gone by.

As promised, there's a larger pic of the dinosaurs posted here:

If you click on the pic, it should show up larger.

Not to beat a dead horse (or thread in this case) but very cool that someone else had the triceratops as I did as a kid. With this and the cool recent pic I found with my new robot circa 1969 (rotat o matic astronaut in gold with martian head) I have a couple items to add to the quest. Maybe those big gold and silver knights on horseback will be next.

Those are very cool dinosaurs! They look like they are modelled after the Pyro/Lindberg kits. The motorized models mentioned were early Bandai kits. How big were these bad boys?
Crazy am I? We'll see if I'm crazy or not!

Someone recently found 1 on the new gets thread I believe. Was hoping to find a vintage pic in the ginormic pile of slides I've been shuffling thru. No luck yet but heres the pic with the robot I need to find! I'll need luck on that 1 also!
