Movie was awesome. It had a great ending. That is terrible news about someone shooting. I couldn't imagine if someone did that at the theatre I was at. People everywhere.... The huge movie theatre was playing the dark knight on all screens and completely sold out. Most people at midnight showing I have seen since Star wars episode 1. We got there 30 mins early and the two of us still had a terrible time finding a seat.

I know, I know, PEOPLE kill people, but it's still too %$!# easy to get a gun in this country.

Lets not make this a political argument because such conversations are not allowed.

Very tragic thing indeed.

I didn't know mass murder was a political topic. My bad.

Its not. Gun control is.

Didn't really think he was trying to get into a political convo , but ... Either way let's not feed the fire here. We all know if you want to get something done, you will get it done. This was a terrible thing that was done.

The point is 12 people were massacred in a crowded movie theater with assault rifles.  It shows anyone can turn out to be a psycho, not just the ones who look it.   Forget if the movie was good or not, or the records set,  IMO this is more important.    Really, 12 people mowed down in a movie theater, nothing to describe how insane that is.
Morning, noon, or night, Anytime . . . . the count may strike. If you're caught you have to linger, Cause Dracula may bite your finger!

I don't mean to make light of this, but that reminded me of this (and its kinda true in a way):

Then don't make light of it.

The fact remains that 12 people are dead and about 50 more were wounded. Plus the hundreds of physically unscathed but traumatized witnesses.  Add to that the thousands of friends and family members whose lives were forever disrupted by one man.

And he did not do it with swords, battle axes, pocket knives, hammers, broomsticks or bows and arrows.

I didn't. I made light of the above posters comment.

And nope, he didn't. And that really does not matter. He could've just rigged a bomb, all that matters is he wanted to cause death and destruction and he chose a way to do so.

People have been blaming movies for their own deranged behaviors since Day One. There was a famous case in England where a man murdered someone and tried to blame it on LON CHANEY! He claimed he was so unsettled by Chaney's vampire in "London After Midnight" (British title: "The Hypnotist") that he was compelled to commit murder. A disturbing image may trigger a psychotic episode, but that just means the psychosis was always there, waiting to be triggered.

And remember: guns don't kill people. Bullets do. We have a right to bear and keep arms. There's no mention of the right to ammunition.
