Pet Sematary, 2019 - Multi-layered tale of people dealing with death - poorly.

John Lithgow.

Unnecessary, inferior remake of the classic cinematic Fred Gwynne retelling of the quintessential W.W. Jacobs horror short story The Monkey's Paw.

All the extra twists and turns must have been designed to make this version seem fresh.  Some seemed aimed directly at fans of the first film.  They muddied the timeless "be careful what you wish for" fable a bit much for my tastes.

John Lithgow's performance was disappointing.  He is a better actor than presented here.  Am I the only one that think he might have done better with a director more suited to extracting his best?  (I thought jettisoning Jed's New England accent was a mistake.)

Probably would have liked this movie a lot more if I had not seen the earlier version - but, I did.

You're a lot kinder than I am. I hated this remake. And, yes, the accent was distracting.

It was far from the worst movie I have ever seen.

I was disappointed all over again when I discovered there was no writer/director's commentary.  I would have liked to been told why they made some of the choices they did.

Blood From the Mummy's Tomb (1971)~More like Va-va-voom From the Mummy's Tomb.

Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks (1975) -

This film could'nt have been made with today's PC police. Cruel Arabs, blood, torture, tits and ass.....and Dyanne Thorne.

Joker~Taxi Driver and Falling Down meets the Crown Prince of Crime mythos; I even noticed a little Kubrick Shining in there.
