About half the time I use the "Like" button, it's to tell someone "thanks" for the info, or cool pic, etc. The rest of the time it's just to indicate that I read your post, but don't have anything else to say.  ;D

The Mole People, 1956 - Three archeologists immerse themselves in their work.

John Agar, Hugh Beaumont, Nestor Paiva, Cynthia Patrick and Alan Napier.

Not the height of Universal's output, a point that is too often and too strenuously pointed out by way too many reviewers.

Watched the Scream Factory 2.00:1 aspect version.  Picture and sound are excellent.  Has a "making of" extra in place of a regular Commentary.  I think I would have preferred the Commentary.

I've always thought this movie never got the respect it warranted.  I was 9 or 10 in 1956, when I saw this in the theater.  Back then, it was considered pretty riveting sci-fi.  Even the prologue was taken generally seriously - at least by kids through Jr. High.

Maybe I am just being nostalgic.

(Am I the only one who has always regarded this movie as an abridged Serial - Like "The Undersea Kingdom"?)

It does have that feel, doesn't it? Just add a cliffhanger every 20 min. and you've got a 4 chapter serial.  ;D

You're definitely not alone in your love for this flick. People are too hard on it. It's a little unpredictable! I've always enjoyed this one (honestly, the ending kind of bugs me though). Can't wait to receive my new blu-ray.

Swamp Thing, 1982 - Ecological DNA Experiments in the swamps of South Carolina are taken to an extreme and unexpected results result.

Adrienne Barbeau, Louis Jourdan and Dick Durock.

Comic book fare from Wes Craven.  Has more pyrotechnics than the storyline would seem to require.  Entertaining, if you don't tend to think things through too deeply.

Watched the uncensored 2002 DVD release with an additional 12 seconds of full-frontal boobery from Adrienne and some little extra time of the girls stripping at the after-capture party.  Officially times out a 2 minutes more than the 91 min. U.S. theatrical cut.  Only downside is the DVD image is masked on all 4 sides for modern TV's.

Although this film was released 2 years after "The Fog", I think Adrienne Barbeau looks younger.

Wish someone would finally issue a full 93 minute Blu-Ray with commentary.

Matinee, 1993 - Shockmeister Lawrence Woolesy brings his new sci-fi masterpiece and showmanship to a quiet Florida town.  The place will never be the same again.

John Goodman, Cathy Moriarty, Robert Picardo, Jesse White, John Sayles, Dick Miller, Simon Fenton and Kellie Martin.

"They were fair to your movie in Little Rock, Pal - Look what it got 'em."

I love this movie and I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't seen it yet - or did, and didn't appreciate just how good it really is.
