The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix). Didn't live up to the hype but enjoyable nonetheless. For once I preferred the child actors over the adults, some of whom I found grating at times. It had some creepy moments but these became less and less effective as the show went on. Worth a watch even if just for the cool looking ghosts (I really liked the 'bowler hat' ghost with the cane!).

The Vampire's Ghost, 1945 - An odd combination of south seas voodoo and old world vampirism.

The most enduring impression I take away from this movie is the fact that, during the height of the big band era, they managed to find the only 3 or 4 black drummers with absolutely no sense of rhythm.

Fun it its own way.

Beyond the Sky, 2018 - UFO debunker attends a believers' convention and meets an attractive "abductee" who claims to have been taken on her 7th, 14th and 21st birthdays.  It is two days 'til her 28th birthday, so he decides to stick around.

Curious blend of UFO community, native American mysticism and science fiction.

I thought UFO tales were pretty much a thing of the past.  (I'm up for anything that doesn't have zombies in it.)

OK.

Deep Blue Sea, 1999 - Scientists breed sharks with larger brains. (I forget why.)  Like most genetic fiddling, it has an unanticipated side effect.  It makes them smarter - a LOT smarter.

The CGI special effects look a lot better on my 55" TV than they did on a truly huge theater screen.

Kinda fun.  I like it more now than I did when I first saw it.
