What did you think of it?

Well, the acting was pretty wooden and I found it rather dull to tell the truth.. :(
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

It was very cheap looking, as I recall and a rather odd adaption. The silent version was much better!

I'll finish off my "not on DVD" listings with the Universal movies that fit the category. First up . . .

THE LAST WARNING (1929) at Archive.org

Director Paul Leni's ("The Cat and the Canary") mystery/thriller about the restaging of a play in which the leading man, in a performance five years previous, had been killed. Atmospheric visuals and photographic effects enhance this entertaining story. Someone did a fair job of adding a score, to this print, made up of cues from other film scores. Remade as "The House of Fear" in 1939.

Great cast includes Laura La Plante ("The Cat and the Canary"), Montagu Love ("The Cat Creeps"), John Boles ("Frankenstein"), Mack Swain ("The Gold Rush"), Slim Summerville ("All Quiet on the Western Front") and everybody's favorite fat, bowlered, mustachioed, cigar chomping police inspector, Fred Kelsey.

THE MISSING GUESS is missing from the internet, so I'll do the remake of the remake, next time.

"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Lunkenstein

DESTINATION MOON (1950) - Been some years since I last saw this. I like how it strives to be straight-on science fiction and inspirational. The effects remain very impressive for 1950 and I really like the main score by Leith Stevens. Also, it's a George Pal production directed by Irving Pichel (Sandor from DRACULA'S DAUGHTER). Very cool.

And then added a WWII movie leftover Brooklynite comedy relief.  ;D

True, but Joe grew on me - especially when he was willing to try to help save them later on.

Happy Death Day  - They didn't reinvent the wheel here, but it sure was fun. Not heavy on scares but thoroughly entertaining.  If you've always wanted to see "Scream" morphed into "Groundhog Day", this is the film for you. It's a perfect horror date movie (even my girlfriend loved it). It has that good-natured feel of Joe Dantes "Burying the Ex" and  "The Final Girls". Fun to the very end.

Did you enjoy the film,  Mike...In 3-D?!

Absolutely. It had everything I loved about the original trilogy while managing to be fresh. The Hatchet franchise has eclipsed many of the classic franchises for me due to its consistency and ability to have fun and give us likeable characters.
