Clara my seven year old little femme-monster and I watched Poltergeist yesterday. We watch Monster movies and Sci-Fi channel all the time but this was her first genuinely SCARY movie - it was so cool she did the blanket over the head thing, so I hugged her, reminded her it's all fake and asked if I should change it - she ignored me. Now the new line we say to each other is "I am addressin' the living."

Great story, Packy.  Make sure you make a hard copy of this story and hide it in one of your monster collectibles that she will find down the line.

Willard. The recent version, not the `70's version.

Paul,

I missed this story yestreday.  I remember the first time Catherine (now almost 12), watched that movie.  Heck, she stills does the blanket thing sometimes.  So glad that Clara is into it so well.

I had a movie night with some friends last night, and we watched "The Night Stalker" and a couple of episodes of the series "Dinosaurs!". When I got home I watched "Flash Gordon" and "Ladyhawke", two of my favorite 80's fantasy/adventure movies.

Last night I watched the original "The Blob" starring Steve McQueen.

After many years of watching a faded out VHS version, I snagged a copy of The Criterion Collection DVD of "The Blob". The colors and sound were clear and the special features were a treat. (The French poster is a real hoot!) Its quite an upgrade for those who care to pay the ridiculously high prices Criterion charges.

The amazing THE ROBOT VS THE AZTEC MUMMY, K. Gordon Murray version.  That damn Popoca is a great actor!

You should be banned for 3 days for watching that movie as a member of the UMA. And an additional week for admitting it in print.  ;)

This morning I watched the animated movie "Heavy Metal", a great mix of Sci-Fi and music. Put me in the mood to watch "Rock-N-Rule" later tonight.

Don't worry George, I have "Xanadu" in my DVD collection as well.
