Monsters For Sale

The radio news was just reporting that "Don't Breathe" is exceeding expectations.

It started off at a slower rate, then as audiences recommended it to friends, ticket sales increased and made them re-evaluate the rest of the weekend take.

(Let's see if the 2nd weekend takes in more than the 1st one - always a good sign.)

All projections had "Suicide Squad" holding on to the number one spot. "Don't Breathe" just knocked it off and earned triple what it cost to make. I was hooked when I saw the trailer a few months ago. It lived up to all my expectations  (and then some). Old fashioned horror/suspense at its best .

That's a good thing. I was wondering if your daughter was OK with the tension and violence. It wasn't as graphic as most horror fare.

She's watched more graphic stuff (although most of it is more "fantasy" than "reality" horror) so that really didn't effect her; she actually gets more antsy/edge of her seat while watching paranormal films.  I did hear her gasp a few times during some tenser moments.

The Lost Patrol (1934)
Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (1947)
