Frankenstein (1931)
Plan 9 from Outer Space (1956)
"They come from the bowels of hell; a transformed race of walking dead. Zombies, guided by a master plan for complete domination of the Earth."

Phantom Stranger

'Bigfoot vs Zombies' (2016)

Plot: IMDB
A scientist creates a toxic cocktail that is accidentally unleashed into the local population and a nearby police "body farm" - creating a small army of flesh-eating zombies - and only one creature of legend, a killer in his own right, can stop the growing hordes of the undead and save humanity.

Phantom's Review: Dear Gods! What a turd. There are bad movies that are fun and there are bad movies that are just bad...this one is absolutely one of the BAD ones. A guy in a gorilla suit fighting a bunch of folks wearing Halloween masks and some actors(?) spouting out brainless (no pun intended) dialogue. Avoid this film at all costs unless you're having a (really) Bad Movie Night .

I just saw The Mummy again for the first time in quite a while only now my Dad watched it with me having probably never seen it before. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Boris Karloff's largest speaking role in this 1932 film? Next up, another movie villain who is as briefly shown wrapped in bandages.

El Baron Del Terror (1962) (aka The Brainiac)

I watched the original Mexican version of this with English subs on the CasaNegra DVD. While it is an improvement over the English dubbed version, there is no escaping the extremely cheezy effects which endear this film to many. At least in the original version the voices aren't so goofy sounding. This is a fun little cheezfest along the lines of Plan 9.

I recommend the CasaNegra DVDs to anyone who enjoys Mexican Horror. Each film is presented in it's uncut original Mexican version as well as the English dubbed K. Gordon Murray versions. There are also special features galore. CasaNegra DVDs are probably the best treatments these films will ever see. They are OOP now, but most are still available and affordable. I've been scooping up the ones I missed over the past few years. You never know when this stuff will begin to get scarce and expensive.

Phantom Stranger

'The Undead' (1957)
-Alison Hayes, Pamela Duncan,
Richard Garland

Plot: IMDB
Two psychical researchers procure the services of a lady of the night and send her back in time under hypnosis. She finds herself in the body of a past existence - a woman in medieval times waiting to be beheaded as a witch. By avoiding this fate she unwittingly starts to alter history.

Phantom's Review: Roger Corman does Shakespeare or at least a reasonable facsimile .Like all of Corman's early films, this is low-budget, borderline acting, bad FX and lots of laughs . Alison Hayes (Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman) is absolutely gorgeous as an evil witch , but all the "Thee's" and "Thou's" in the dialogue get on your nerves after a while. Not the worst movie ever made, but hardly a classic.
