Now we have to wait a whole year for the best holiday to roll back around.  :(

But, the good part is that us Monsterkids live Halloween all year 'round:)

You're right about that. My house is Halloween themed 365 days of the year.

Since it was November 1st, the Mexican Day Of the Dead, I celebrated with a Mexican horror film marathon:

The Vampire(1957)
Face Of the Screaming Werewolf(1959)
The Black Pit Of Dr.M(1959)
The Man and the Monster(1959)
Curse Of the Doll People(1961)
The Witch's Mirror(1961)
The Bloody Vampire(1962)
The Brainiac(1962)
Invasion Of the Vampires(1963)
Curse Of the Crying Woman(1963)
DARK SHADOWS:

David Collins: "Dead people dont just get up and walk around.."

Sarah Collins: "Sometimes they do."

Took the kids to see Goosebumps this morning to close out the Halloween season.  It was pretty much what you'd expect.

That was a brilliant idea.  I wish I'd thought of it.  I loathe you. ;D

I meant to take my girls.  Was it at least fun?

Oh yeah, definitely.  I didn't mean anything negative by "pretty much what you'd expect", it was a fun popcorn flick for the kids and both mine (ages 8 and 9) enjoyed it.

Excellent call, Memph.

Those Mexican flicks get a bum rap by a lot of people thanks to the somewhat goofy English dubs by K. Gordon Murray. If viewed as nice original prints with English subs most of those are really good films just dripping with spooky atmosphere. The Vampire, The Black Pit Of Dr. M, Curse Of The Doll People, The Witch's Mirror, and Curse Of The Crying Woman are personal faves. Casa Negra DVD is the way to go. Too bad they couldn't have done all of them before they went under.

It's aggravating that there aren't enough fans of the good stuff to keep these companies going when they try to do it right. The Spanish Horror series from BCI/Deimos tanked long before getting to all of those Naschy and Ossorio gems. I guess we should be thankful for what we got from them.

Good to hear.  My girls are 7 and 11 and the little one is reading Goosebumps now.  I don't know how I failed to take them---we all wanted to see it.  I guess I'll have to settle for On Demand.

Mike...In 3-D!

10/31: Halloween (1978) & Elvira's Movie Macabre (2010): The Manster.
11/01: TerrorVision, Tales of Halloween, Trick r' Treat, Elvira's Movie Macabre (2010): Tormented. As I typed this out I realized they all start with T's. I wish I could say it was intentional.

It's certainly true about enjoying them more when you get original prints with English subtitles versus some of the bad overdubs. I try to go for this whenever possible. As you said, the atmosphere in these films is great, many of the films have sets and visions that stand up with some of the classic Universals. For anyone who is looking for something "new" to watch, but from a classic era, the Mexican horrors are recommended. Stylish, sometimes noirish and always with a creepy tinge...you cant go wrong with a lot of these films. :)
