"The Shining" (1980) - This still bores me a little. I do appreciate a lot more than when I first saw it, though.
Gotta love crazy Jack:laugh:

Mord

Halloween III - I watched this a little while back, but it means so much more this time of year. I'll probably have it playing on the 31st (the first three Halloweens really get me in the spirit).

Majere

Son of Dracula.

I love Lon Chaney Jr. as the Wolfman, but can't help but cringe at him playing Dracula with an American accent, besides the fact he just doesn't look the part.

Bela Lugosi will forever be the standard which all other Dracs are measured, and must necessarily fall short of.  (That said, I do love Christopher Lee and his portrayal as Dracula, and think he is as nearly as entrenched in second place as Bela is first.)

Next up, one of the few Hammer flicks I have yet to see... The Mummy!  Can't go wrong with Lee and Cushing.

You're in for a treat. The Hammer Mummy is one of the very best Mummy films ever.

I agree with Mord---Hammer's the Mummy is essential viewing. I know what you mean about Lon Chaney Jr. playing Dracula---sometimes I still have difficult time watching John Carradine put on the cape. But to me it's more about Bela Lugosi being awesome than a critique of Chaney or Carradine. So overall I really enjoy "Son of Dracula, House of Dracula," etc. But it does seem like Lugosi should have played the Count more than twice.

I love this film, and that Rob Zombie won't be remaking it.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

We can all be thankful for that.

The Plague Of The Zombies (1966)

Excellent Hammer Horror as per usual. Andre Morell and John Carson are very good, as is direction by John Gilling.

Watched "Dracula A.D. 1972" - A lot of fun with cheese on the side. I just wish they could have gotten a better band to represent the cool '72 music scene (Mott the Hoople, Slade, Spiders from Mars, Iggy & the Stooges, Alice Cooper...anyone but Stoneground).
