Invasion of the Saucermen (I watch this when I'm in a drinking mood - as well as Killer Klowns...)

I take it then you have them on a continual loop?
We're all here because we're not all there.

Often considered one of the top worst plot twists in movie history, a thrown in-last minute twist that leaves nothing but plot holes in its wake; I wanna revisit this one as it initially left me feeling cheated upon first viewing.

If you view the film as being told by the main girl from her recollections then any plot holes can be explained away.

Dude...Marie IS the killer. She's NUTS! Who else, besides you, considers this "one of the top worst plot twists in movie history"?  ::)

And I'm just curious...why do you go out of your way to contradict others? WAY out of your way sometimes. I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just curious. Are you even aware that you make a habit of that? Just do it for kicks?  ???

I agree. It was okay, but fell far short of the classic that spawned it. It isn't a sequel or remake of The Wicker Man, but considered Robin Hardy's "companion piece" to his masterpiece.

They just can't compete with Britt's body double's butt or Chris Lee's fabulous HAIR and tweed coat!

Seriously though, there will never be another Wicker Man. And if anyone tries to remake it (and I'm looking at you Tim Burton with Johnny Depp or *choke* Keanu Reeves *gasp*) A POX ON THEM. I really don't care since it would just be another lame remake I would ignore.

And, By God, it was remade in 2006 with Nicolas Cage. I ignored that one real good.

Although, I do have to give the female lead's body double credit for having a very round and delicious looking arse. That scene where she was laying face down while being oiled by the other ladies has not left my mind. Her butt was so perfectly round, that it almost looked 3D. Check it out again, brother HH.

Well first of all, I never said that I personally considered it one of the top worst plot twists but that in fact it is often considered to be.  Look it up for yourself.

As far as contradicting, if we all just get on here and praise stuff or hide our differing opinions it'd be pretty damned boring.  I also said I plan to give the film another chance at some point since my first viewing left me a little cold; just to many plot holes that make it obvious that the story couldn't have ended that way.  But again if you view it from the main girl's perspective it is entirely possible to explain away anything that doesn't add up....which there is a lot of.

The whole point of the plot twist is that Marie had created an imaginary serial killer to project her evil actions onto. It's all explained at the end with the security video among other things. I haven't heard of this all encompassing idea that the film's plot twist is considered "one of the top worst plot twists in movie history".  I enjoyed High Tension and found it tight and clever.

You are correct about good natured debate being good for the site and conversation in general. I certainly don't hide my opinions. I just try not to dig too hard to find an opposing viewpoint. I didn't mean to sound like I was trying to find fault with you. We all have our own way of interacting. Like you say, if we all agreed on everything it would be boring. Leave us carry on with the monstering.

I'll I've ever heard about "High Tension" is positive. That's why I checked it out. It's generally a highly regarded film (in horror circles). I've never heard a consensus of negative opinions about the plot twist.
