...And How! A Castle Classic. Very creepy and effective. I first saw it on 100% Weird on TNT in the '90s. I greatly enjoyed seeing it finally since I had wanted to from monsterkid days when I saw the photos from it in Famous Monsters.

Don't forget the Punishment Poll!

Funny, those FM photos were also my first exposure to Sardonicus. Actually the same is true for many horror classics. I was a big fan of the original Chaney Phantom since I was eight, but did not see the actual film until I was in my thirties.

Mr. Sardonicus used to really freak me out -- now he just looks like another guy with some bad plastic surgery...

Dying Day

Unfinished film by writer/director Brett Piper. Damn shame this flick was never finished. Parts of it were used in Raiders Of The Living Dead, but that's a whole different animal. Raiders is a kiddie adventure flick whereas Dying Day is a real horror movie, or most of one anyway. The plot is interesting, the acting and writing good, the shots are effective and eerily lit, and the aura is very dark and appropriately creepy. I love the beginning credits, even missing sound, as they look like Gray Morrow illustrations. The whole effort reminds me of a good story in a Skywald Horror-Mood mag...maybe Psycho or Scream. The only way I know of to see it is to get the Raiders Of The Living Dead 2 disc DVD set from Image which is OOP. Mister Piper, you done good. If only it were finished and polished up like the gem it really is.
