I watched some movie with the guy from Starship Troopers who never worked again..Casper something.  He was a cop who died early and never really did anything interesting, while a young blonde learned that she had an crazy uncle who lived under her house and was killing people.  It wasn't awful, but it does not make my top 1000 list of best films.

IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (1953)

ZOMBIES ON BROADWAY (1945) - First time seeing this. I wasn't expecting much, but really enjoyed it.  Going in, I was unaware of the connections with I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE, plus Anne Jeffreys was simply gorgeous.  Fun, little film.

The Awakening (2010)

A turn of the LAST century ghost debunker finally finds a ghost story she can't debunk. Great, creepy little BBC produced film with an unnecessarily convoluted ending that robs it of much of its ultimate power...........but it's a hell of a ride before that.

More eerie than scary, this isn't your typical jump-scare ghost fest. It borrows HEAVILY from "The Sixth Sense" and "The Outsiders", and it's a shame it does because that is its ultimate undoing. But don't think it's all copycatting............there are many very original and effective horror elements throughout the film, and it may well have become as perfect a ghost film as I've seen had it not been driven off the rails a bit in the last 15 minutes. Sometimes a filmmaker tries to be a bit TOO clever, and winds up outsmarting himself more than the audience.

That said, I still give it a solid 7 bananas. Definitely worth the watch.
