Opera Ghost

Fantastic Four - enjoyable....Jessica Alba, need I say more? Thought a better choice could have been made on Von Doom
How to Train your Dragon...excellent film
Green Hornet (Rogen)....Hate Rogen, but it IS the Green Hornet and Kato, and the Black Beauty

OG
"In each of us, two natures are at war--the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them, and one of them must conquer..."

Phantom Stranger

"The Pirates Of Blood Island" (1962)
                                                -Christopher Lee

Plot: IMDB
A group of ruthless pirates attack a 17th Century Huguenot settlement on the Isle of Devon in search of treasure and will stop at nothing to obtain it.

Phantom's Review: A very different type of Hammer Film production. No supernatural creatures in this one, just a good old fashioned swashbuckler
Lots of action and fun. Christopher Lee is excellent (as always) as the one eyed pirate captain. (he would have made a great Captain Hook).
My only complaint about this film is, it's a PIRATE movie and there is virtually no ocean or ship scenes. It all takes place on dry land. Apparently due to budget constraints. outside of that , it's a very entertaining  film..

Haha...right on Scatter...I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars either.  I always liked Trek more...I like the idea of a universe where you can work your way to being a Capt. of a starship as opposed to being born with/without abilities and everyone else is just small fry.  I do like the idea of Anakin's fall from grace, its something that's classic, a story as old as man itself, but the way it was handeled was horrible.  I think the prequels could have been amazing had they been smaller character pieces (that didn't start with a movie that didn't need to be, an absolute waste of an entire movie about a child who accidently saves a planet) but these smaller character pieces would have needed scripts written by a different person, with films directed by someone else other than Lucas as well as using different actors.

As far as the POTA remake...
Well first, the end battle is kind of lackluster.  The poster to the film had terrific atmosphere, it was dark and gloomy with a blue-ish hue...the actual battle was shot in broad daylight and lacked the power of a single poster depicting the battle.  The conclusion of the battle just feels lazy, and rushed.  I can almost literaly feel Tim Burton just saying "screw it, it's good enough I guess, I'm tired of dealing with it," and the final "twist" is just laughable.

A bad ending can crush an otherwise good movie. Happens WAY too often.
We're all here because we're not all there.

Count_Zirock

"Robot Monster" from Mystery Science Theater 3000, Vol. XIX.
"That's either a very ugly woman or a very pretty monster." - Lou Costello

Phantom Stranger

"The Valley Of Gwangi" (1969)
                                        -James Franciscus

Plot:
At the end of the 19th century, an American Wild West show, traveling in Mexico, discovers a hidden valley filled with prehistoric beasts.

Phantom's Review: The very definition of the term "weird western". James Franciscus (the poor mans Charlton Heston) stars in this variation on the "King Kong" theme. While this film is nowhere as great as "Kong" It still is a highly entertaining mix of western and monster movie genres.
With great special FX from the legendary Ray Harryhausen. Lots of fun to watch.

I just watched something called 'The Naked Witch'.  It looked 50-60 years old... the MOVIE, not the witch. ::)  HORRIBLE, great-bad movie.  Essentially a witch rises from her grave and runs around naked stabbing people.  It's free On Demand-------but there is also a black line over her lady parts (or they're blurred out).  Whatashame. 8)

That particular movie is SO bad, but funny. I purchased the film as a double feature with an other movie,
for the life I can not think of the title. But, I remember Something Weird Video put out the Naked Witch film
some years ago. Definitely a keeper.

Tormented (1960)  A very under-rated ghost story, in my humble opinion...
"It's Alive...oh, It's Alive! It's Alive, It's Alive...IT'S ALIVE!!!"
