Wicked Lester

Scarecrows 1988
Five people heist the Camp Pendleton payroll, kidnap a pilot and his daughter, who are forced to fly them to Mexico. Enroute a double cross has one of the thieves parachute with the loot into an abandoned graveyard surrounded by strange scarecrows. Two of the team jump after their loot and their former partner. Everything happens during the course of one very dark night.

This was a slow moving dark psychological occult themed film. The scarecrows were cool. I LOVES evil scarecrows. There ended up being some Evil Dead type wisecracking near the end. 5.5/10

Child's Play for family movie night!!  The girls both wanted to watch Child's Play 2 but I told them they had to start with the first one.  Jo seemed to be at ease through most of it but Sam was ducking under the covers.....neither of them wish to continue viewing the Child's Play series!  As I've come to expect from my little monsters there were no nightmares, no waking up screaming and no trips to mom & dad's bed that night!!

I liked this movie and bought it on dvd a year or two ago.
Long live the UMA!

The Creeper

Devil

I thought it was pretty good, five people get stuck in a elevator and one of them is the devil.  And one by one they end up dead while others try to rescue them.  I thought the story or plot was pretty good.  Worth checking out.
Long live the UMA!

Phantom Stranger

"I Eat Your Skin" (1964)

Plot: ( For lack of a better term?)
Swinging '60's Writer Tom Harris, his agent and his agents wife arrive on a beautiful island in search of material on voodoo legends for his novel. He unfortunately stumbles onto the secret laboratory of a mad scientist who is experimenting on reversing the aging process and instead is turning the natives into bug eyed zombies

Phantom's Review: One of the best of the worst. A crap classic on all levels. Bad acting, terrible FX, no scares and the humor falls as flat as a board.
In other words...IT"S GREAT!! But only if your in the mood for cheese. Perfect for a bad movie night.

"The Seventh Victim", 1943 Val Lewton, Kim Hunter's film debut. Great atmosphere !
My music is for Phoenix. Only she can sing it. Anyone else who tries, dies.

Piranha  also called Piranha, Piranha! (1972)....this was alright. Had nothing to do with piranhas though. All the movie is about a guy named piranha killing people to keep them  from telling that he is doing illegal hunting. By the title card you would think that it has something to do with piranhas.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

I have an inordinate fondness for this movie because it was the first movie I ever taped from TV back in 1985, where it was shown on a Saturday night UHF horror show as Zombie. I also love the musical score.

Count_Zirock

Been watching my "Dracula: The Legacy Collection" DVD set this week. Finished up last night with 1945's "House of Dracula." It's odd how they tie in the discovery of Frankenstein's Monster to "House of Frankenstein," but they make no effort to explain the resurrections of Dracula and the Wolf Man.
