Reason being I've never seen a silent movie before so I thought I'd get board watching it and on top of that I watched it with my wife and was afraid she'd also get board watching it but to my surprise we both loved it. Lon Chaney does such a great job and his face make up in my opinion is one of the best especially for that time period. So now I'm looking for the release of it want it on vhs but it seems hard to track down.

If you don't mind, I'd like to recommend both Nosferatu and Metropolis.  They were both made in Germany during the early 20's and both are very good.  Nosferatu is an adaptation of Dracula and Metropolis is a science fiction/political film.

Thanks for the recommendation, I do have a copy of Nosferatu it's on my watch list but I'll have to track down a copy of Metropolis.

Mord

There hasn't been a better vampire film since "Nosferatu" (not even "Twilight")

20 Million Miles to Earth ...some will gasp but the colored version. never saw it in color before. holds up pretty good and it was approved by Ray Harryhausen. I still liked the black and white version better but it was good.

Definitely, you'll see a lot of the inspiration for key scenes in the 1931 "Frankenstein".
