I totally remember that 80s.....ummmmmmmm, classic? Was the film still entertaining?

You skipped "Brides of Dracula"?

Phantom Stranger

"Pacific Rim" (2013)

Plot:
Big ass robots fight big ass monsters, make a big ass mess.

Phantom's Review: I love giant monster movies. Godzilla, Kong, Gargantuas, Gorgo,Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, whatever. If it's a giant smashing things I'm there.
"Pacific Rim", for me was the ultimate. It had all the things you loved in giant monster films of the past. Paper thin plot and plenty of smashin' action. The acting is a little better, the special FX are awesome and the dialogue actually matches the movement of the actors mouths.
This was the coolest movie of the summer so far. I hope next years "Godzilla" remake is as good. (so long as it's better than that Matthew Broderick piece of crap, I'll be happy)

- Phantasm
- Phantasm II
- Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead
- Phantasm IV: Oblivion

A Phantasm marathon this past week. P1 is one of my all time favorites. The sequels are all great to watch. They are all so different. III is probably my least favorite with IV and II neck and neck.

Also, it's a warm up for next weekend when Count Gore hosts Phantasm live in MD.
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."

Dracula wasn't in Brides Of Dracula. That was Baron Meinster played by David Peel. Dracula, Prince Of Darkness followed Horror Of Dracula in the continuity. There was even a flashback of Dracula's demise from Horror Of Dracula in Dracula, Prince Of Darkness. After I watch the 7 Hammer Dracs with Chris Lee (and Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires), I plan to go back and watch all of the non-Dracula Hammer vampire flicks beginning with "Brides".

It was my first time watching it.  It wasn't bad; it's a nice Saturday matinee creature feature.  I think I would have enjoyed it more as a kid though...
