Been sick in bed for the past couple days and have been half-watching a ton of stuff. Just finished "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave" . . . it's a real mess and in dire need of Peter Cushing but still enjoyable.

Haven't posted my viewings in a while, don't know if I can remember all of them.
Night Creatures  Hammer's take on the Dr.  Syn/ Scarecrow of Romney Marsh.  Very well done.  Cushing, as usual, is excellent.
House of Dracula. Carradine's Dracula is anemic, Strange is wasted, and Chaney is great as usual.  Still its fun.  Oddly enough they use footage of Chaney as the Monster when is  he destroyed by fire.
Kiss of Evil.  Saw this when I was 9 years old in 1963.  It still holds up except for the final scene with the horde of vampire bats.  The strings are very visible.  They could have used some CGI.
Brides of Dracula.  Fantastic. Great story and acting.  Cushing is the man!
Frankenstein. Some actors are fated to play certain roles.  Karloff makes the monster real.
Mark of the Vampire.  Some great imagery, but the story is awful.
Curse of the Demon.  I like this movie more and more with each viewing.  BTW, I heard a radio dramatizion of this in October on Sirius Old Time Radio.
When Michael Calls. It was okay.  The phone calls were creepy.
Five Million Years to Earth.  Very good and very interesting.

You can't kill the boogeyman.  Halloween (1978)

"Dominique Is Dead"...........70's Brit horror with Cliff Robertson playing a Yank haunted by the wife (Jean Simmons) who he drove to suicide. Meh. Predictable but occasionally creepy. Nancy and I had figured out the ending independently of each other by the first 30 minutes. Worth a watch but not a re-watch.

"Not Of This Earth"(1957)-Roger Corman's outer space vampire flick. An emissary from the planet Darvanna, whose populace needs fresh blood to survive, is sent to earth to determine the quality of human blood and possibly set up our planet as a blood farm.

Corman, vampires, aliens, death-ray eyes............what's not to love??

We're all here because we're not all there.

- How My Dad Killed Dracula (highly recommended! A great family Halloween special)

- The Old Dark House (finally saw this classic, a fun watch and will definitely want to see again)

- Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages (a strange 1922 film using a variety of techniques to show a semi documentary on witchcraft)
"For one who has lived but a single lifetime, you are a wise man ...Van Helsing."
"I shall awaken memories of love and crime and death..."
