Was the remake a shot-for-shot duplicate like the Psycho remake?

No. Tom Savini directed the film. He re-imagined the film in his own Savini style. Tony Todd ( Ben), Bill Mosley ( Johnny) and Tom Towles( Cooper) are in the film.

I like the 1990 version as a different take on the story.  It's very well done  Of course the original will always be my favourite.

THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE (1946) - Great, atmospheric thriller.

THE MAN WITHOUT A BODY (1957) - I loved this quirky, little oddity from the director of PHANTOM FROM SPACE and KILLERS FROM SPACE. What a hoot!

Jaws in 3D~made the most of $3 movie day yesterday. Really well done conversion with many scenes just lending themselves to the 3D treatment. Be cool to see a 3D Bluray release but I'm not holding my breath.
