Return of the Living Dead, 1985 - Another title that kinda says it all.

Movie's message:  Calling the military for help really isn't always that good an idea.

Like An American Werewolf In London, a terrific blend of horror and humor that never fails to entertain, no matter how many times I've seen it.

People download an app that tells you exactly when you will die. Better than it sounds, plenty of jump-scares.

Daybreak~Watched several episodes of this Netflix post-apocalyptic series last night.  Nuclear missiles kill off most adults, the ones left turn into zombie like creatures; the story follows groups of teens left to survive and defend themselves.  Fun stuff.

Currently watching a Munsters marathon in COZI TV.

The Man They Could Not Hang (1939) -

As a kid, this one of my favorite late night flicks. It still holds up very well. Karloff will always have a special place in my heart.

Robocop, 1987 - A dystopian Detroit contracts out local law enforcement to private industry with interesting results.

Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Dan O'Herlihy, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith and Miguel Ferrer.

Solid cast in a fun take on comic book-style super hero fare.  Usually not a fan comic book derived films.  This one is an exception.

This film still holds up for me, because I remember the times so well - and this is very much a tale for those times.  The humor is thick and heavy, with constant parodies of contemporary concerns.

I wonder what kids today make of much of the goings on.  Will they find enough action and timeless societal squabbles to enjoy to be able to ignore all the sly references to noted individuals and fashions that were topical when the movie was released?

I suspect they will, even though they won't understand why I keep being amused by dialog they don't find funny.
