Monsters For Sale

Armageddon, 1998 - The world is on a collision path with an astroid that has the potential to wipe out all of mankind.

This was my follow-up to watching "The End of the World", 1934.  They make interesting bookends.

Composed of insane special effects that want us to believe all sorts of collisions, explosions and collapses provide us with crystal clear views of all their various components.  (When we have all seen enough falling buildings to know that just ain't so.), and to accept the fact that Newtonian physics don't really apply - especially if you are a hero and running away from the explosion.

The script, featuring best buddies beating each other up and firing shotguns at each other, was written by male ego, penned in pure testosterone was performed by inappropriately quipping, grinning actors.

Still...  If you turn your intellect off and put your common sense in neutral, you can make it through the hour and fifty seconds running time.

She Freak (1967) Slow paced, but worth a look. I had to satisfy my curiosity after seeing her photo in so many monster mags over the years.

THE KILLER SHREWS (1959)
GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN (1958)

And then:

BLADE RUNNER 2049 (2017) - I felt this was a pretty great follow up. Enjoyed it immensely.

Mord

Cheap Thrills - Can't get enough of this quirky film. Two regular dudes run into this kinky couple at a local bar. The couple starts to offer the dudes money for doing some seemingly harmless pranks. The price goes up with the increasing outrageousness of each stunt. Great fun from start to finish. Punk band, China White, do the title song.

Ghost Stories (2017) - strange, strange film.

Good strange?

For the most part, yes. I wasn't very fond of the ending though. No spoilers here.
