Monsters For Sale

Psycho II, 1983 -  The sequel so many wished had never been made.  I think it is sorely underrated even today.

I loved it in the theater on opening day.  The follow-up was so long coming, I was one of only a few in the youngish audience who gave an involuntary spurt of applause when the Maestro briefly appeared in shadow form in his mother's room.  Loved the end.  (I was prompted to re-watch this when I thought remembered that the recently used quote, "We all go a little mad sometimes", was in it as well as the original.  I was right.

Psycho III, 1986 -  Better than I remembered.  Not at all bad for a second sequel.

Certainly the loosey-goosey morals would enrage our boy once again.  The wayward nun provided a credible victim that would not be missed.

Psycho IV, 1990 -  A bold experiment that has much in common with "Bates Motel", the series.

Not completely successful, but not all that bad, having seen what was eventually done on the tube.  At least no drug cartel involvement.  Never could figure why young Norman killed the MILF that wanted him.  He could have played mommy/baby with her all he wanted.  (I would have - but then we would have had a whole different movie with a whole different rating.)

A Planet Of The Apes Legacy Collection Marathon:

All five films today:

The Planet Of The Apes 1968

Beneath The Planet of The Apes 1970

Escape From The Planet Of The Apes 1971 - a better film than the trailer shows.

Conquest of The Planet Of The Apes 1972

Battle For The Planet Of The Apes 1973

So nice to see these films released on Blu-ray.
