THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1960) - Another that keeps getting better with each viewing. For a movie that took only 2 days to shoot, it is one of the funniest films ever made to me. How great was Mel Welles? The dialogue and direction are outstanding and the use of real locations are a hoot.

Next on the list is Universal's . .

JUNGLE CAPTIVE (1945) on YouTube

Third (and weakest) of the Paula Dupree trilogy. A mad scientist type is trying to bring the dead back to life and has his henchman steal the body of the dead Ape Woman to experiment on.

Otto Kruger as the mad doc. Rondo Hatton as his "assistant" ( with more dialog in this movie than all his others, combined!), who has a penchant for strangling. Vicky Lane as Paula. Jerome Cowan as the cop and Amelita Ward and Phil Brown as the young couple who always get married at The End.

Make-Up by Jack Pierce. Music by Paul Sawtell. This needs a "Vault" release, so we can complete the collection.

Rondo is back, in Universal's . .

THE SPIDER WOMAN STRIKES BACK (1946) on YouTube

If you want to watch Rondo creeping around an old mansion, then you should be entertained by this barely a mystery. The surviving member of a once wealthy family has plans to regain that wealth, by draining the blood of young girls and feeding it to her posies.

Gale Sondergaard as the title character. Brenda Joyce ("Pillow of Death"), Kirby Grant ("Sky King") and Rondo Hatton as "Mario" (the henchman). Directed by Arthur Lubin ("Phantom of the Opera").
