Mord

Punk Vacation (1990) - Saw this on Turner last night. Dreadful excuse for a movie. Punks kill an owner of a local, small-town diner. The town wants (and gets) revenge after an excruciatingly painful hour and 45 minutes. Lame humor throughout. NOTHING to recommend here. No nudity.

The Truman Show, 1989 - A young man becomes concerned about some curious inconsistencies in his humdrum, repetitious life and tries to come to a better understanding of the world around him.  The more he investigates, the more questions he finds.

Played as a comedy by Jim Carrey, the movie is an OK watch.  I don't hate the movie (I own a copy), but it could have been great.

I would like to see this one remade as a very dark Sci-Fi thriller.  The comedy pathos would be replaced with rage from the main character as he discovers his true place in a dystopian future where corporations physically own individuals.

Imagine a time when everyone's life is so dreary that the only way to experience a fulfilling life is to live it through a fictionalized TV character being played by an unwitting entertainment company's slave.

If you insist that most of the comedy remain, make it along the lines of Terry Gilliam's "Brazil".

The Boy - This one crept up on me. At first, I wasn't crazy about it. This is my third time, and I really like it. It could have something to do with the lovely Laurie Cohan. No nudity, but she looks great in her panties.
