Revenge of the Creature

After I watch The Creature Walks Among Us, I'm going to start a whole new Universal Monster cycle watching each of the six legacy collections one film per night until Halloween.
Listen to them. Children of the Night. What music they make!

Sounds like a great battle plan to me!! I still need to get the Invisible Man Collection.

Last night I finished watching:

The Mummy's Hand

CreepysFan

Just watched "METRPOLIS" the `26 silent.  It struck me while watching, how the Nazi's tried to bring this type system about. What scares me is that today's corporations may suceed. Extreme masters and extreme slave cast. After watching this again (and brooding over gas prices), this future doesn't seem that far fetched.  115 min. of prophesy ?

I watched "Silver Bullet" this morning. I hadn't seen it in about twenty years. I'd forgotten that the werewolf looked more like a bear than a wolf ;)

I watched "The Dead Zone" today. It was another Stephen King movie that I hadn't seen in years, and I was pleased to see it still holds up.

I've owned the Monsters Crash the Pajama Party DVD since the year it was released, and I have yet to sit through TORMENTED.  It just doesn't look interesting.  Should I give it a chance?

I've also never seen She-Wolf of London, despite having owned the Universal DVD since it first came out many years ago.  Maybe I should break down and finally watch that, too.

Nah.

Well, I cant help you with SHE-WOLF because I find it pretty lacklustre..however, TORMENTED is a bit better than that being it is a ghost story..BTW, I watched it as the extra on the Monsters Crash the Pajama Party disc also..

Just got through watching CARNIVAL OF SOULS(1962)...a very weird & interesting tale of the supernatural..still holds up well despite being over 40yrs old..

On Sunday, when the Lions began their first quarter tailspin, I watched Creature from the Black Lagoon.  One of my favorite movies and I get the urge to watch it every autumn.  Used to have a Creature air pump in my fish tank when I was a kid.  I'd stare at it half the night as it, with arms raised in all its eternal gill-man fury, slowly move back and forth as the air pumped.

This weekend I'm hoping to get the time for a double feature of Amicus' Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Horror (even if Vault is the crappy still-frame PG version).
They're going to make you one of them, my peacock!

LOL The  first time I watched it since I was a kid was on that disk. How did you like the Home footage of the 1970s Halloween. Man that was my favorite part of MCTPP Disk.  :)

I really enjoyed this to tell the truth, it brought back some fond memories of Halloweens past for me.
Another thing I really liked on there was the home movie showing the vampire from LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT stalking his victims by climbing out the window into the "outside" living room.(If you've seen this, you know what I'm talking about.) Great stuff! ;D

I watched the American release of "War of the Gargantuas" this morning. I'll probably watch the Japanese version tomorrow.

Continuing our leading up to Halloween family viewing:

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966)

Don Knotts has always been, by far, my favorite comedic actor.  Just love everything he delivers in this film and also  enjoy watching the variety of character actors that make appearances throughout.  This one is an annual treat about this time of year and was the first time our kids have watched it with us.  Nothing funnier in my book than Knotts describing his body as a "human weapon".  :D  As I have stated here before, I wish they would have made this particular film into a tv series....kind of a Don Knotts as a Kolchak Nightstalker show.
