The Mysterians (1957)

Toho's stab at epic sci-fi. Pretty good, but the English dubbed version suffers from the usual problems which make the acting and dialogue seem silly at times.

It has a big robot, but I really miss the kaiju presence in this one. I'm glad the majority of Toho's sci-fi dealt with kaiju.. which were their best efforts.

My favorite too, jimm. As good as the Universal Mummy movies are I have to give Hammer the nod.

I join my nod to your nod. The original was a masterpiece of mood, but Hammer's take far surpassed it.

Dalekmania! DVD.  Lots of fun with scenes from the 2 Peter Cushing Who movies, and interviews with castmembers.
Beautiful moving, shifting colors!

Phantom Ship (1935) (aka The Mystery Of The Marie Celeste)

Bela Lugosi stars in this Hammer production (their 2nd). The original British version is considered lost, but this chopped down US version (62 min.) is still pretty good. Now that I've checked out the film I'll listen to the 1951 Down Place guys give their takes on it in their last episode.
