Today, on Bela Lugosi's birthday, I saw Dracula on the big screen...in Hotel Transylvania 2.
I also watched Bela's Dracula today, to celebrate Mr. Lugosi right!  thrhrt

I keep meaning to watch through that series. I've loved it so far but I only seem to get though about 10 episodes before life happens and I stop for a few months.

Watch two at a time and savor it a bit.

That's what I did. I'd do 2 Addam's Family episodes one day and 2 Munsters episodes the next. I'd usually only get done with around 10 episodes of each before something would come up and I'd have to put all extracurricular viewing on hold for a few weeks.

Dead Snow (2009)

I love the Nazi Zombie subgenre so I'm very forgiving in this area, but Dead Snow never crawls past mediocrity because of missed opportunities. The film starts out very good. It establishes characters and begins to set the mood by building background of this hushed legend of exceptionally cruel SS soldiers under a Col. Herzog who severely abused the people of the area before they revolted UniMon torch-wielding mob style and routed the Nazis, driving the survivors into the mountains. A mysterious old dude explains all of this to the college kids in their cabin and alludes to the fact that there have been disappearances and strange goings-on in the area ever since. One problem is that there is never really an explanation of how these SS *ssholes became zombies, but the real problem is how the movie degenerates to slapstick near the end when the zombies fight the surviving kids. I know the director was going for a Evil Dead Ash thing, but it just didn't work for me. These normal people are turned into Rambos to pull off a bunch of cute zombie destructions using different objects.. and yes, a chainsaw is involved. I really wanted to like this flick but the last few minutes killed it for me. Sh*tcan the comedy, guys. That junk is tired in zombie flicks by now.

If you want to see Nazi Zombie goodness watch Shockwaves, or hell, even not-so-great Oasis Of The Zombies. At least they don't make another joke out of a zombie flick.
